We found a bunch of those THV rounds in various captured weapons in iraq. I always wondered what they were. Thanks.
Ответитьits plastic armor..
ОтветитьGlad to see the THV being "wunderwaffe" myth is debunked.
ОтветитьL7A1 is steel core
ОтветитьTungsten is EXTREAMLEY dense and strong , even so it’s a surprize it penetrated
Ответитьarmor piercing cop killer
ОтветитьIs anyone aware of an AP 9mm adopted for US military service?
ОтветитьExcellent video mate 👌👌👌👍👍👍
ОтветитьWait till j get done making my depleted uranium penetrator
ОтветитьIt can stop the round at longer ranges. If i found a problem worth throwing a vest on 4 im probably not going to be this close. And not to mention ive seen people take 10+ full sized 9mm bullets to the torso and still be in the fight, and this round is much smaller you best bet even if you land a penetrating hit you are still in for a fight.
ОтветитьI'd love to find the specs on that tungsten penetrator (mass and diameter) to see what sectional energy it's hitting with. I'm still surprised it went through a supposed class III+ plate, but a hole is a hole.
Ответитьa 9mm penetrating a level 3
a 12 gauge apfsds penetrating a literally whole ballistic gel
Nig swapped that one of a kind bullet at the end!😂😂😂
ОтветитьHi Could You Do Video 10 Metres Away And 20 Metres Away Same Bullets.. The Pistol Velocity Would Be Different
Ответить..... we need to normalized wearing lv4 armour lol
ОтветитьGood ad for Shotstop. Never heard of them but I will have to check it out with these results. I don't own any poly armor...but it might be on my xmas wish list. :-)
ОтветитьFake
ОтветитьThis is a good thing I don’t mind rifle ammo they can penetrate body armor, but your average dirtbag doesn’t carry a rifle
Your average dirtbag carries pistols. I don’t want bad guys being able to get their hands on armor, piercing ammunition for their handguns.
I'm truly amazed that ANY 9mm load would be capable of penetrating rifle armour. Very informative video, i never knew much about how different armour medians can perform better or worse at stopping certain rounds. Adds a lot more nuance to armour design and armour ratings. It would also explain how many armours are capable of stopping rounds they aren't rated for just as the inverse happened here.
ОтветитьThere will always be some kind of wildcat or rare or exotic ammo that can do anything … getting something to go through armour is a lot easyer then stopping rounds . It will always be this way
ОтветитьTry the dagny dagger 3d printed apds around.
ОтветитьNot just the poly plate but also passed through that soft armor and made a massive cavity into more than an inch of clay and wanted to keep going, thats down right scary!
ОтветитьI don't trust UHMWPE at level III or III+. Steel is all or nothing for days, ceramic is all for a while...PE is idk.
ОтветитьI guess your only option for it is Steel or ceramic. I have a feeling it would penetrate Polyethylene armor since PE are bad against steel core bullet, and this 9mm has the characteristics of a rifle round or at least half of it
ОтветитьTry Liberty 50gr at over 2300 ft per sec out of that CZ
Ответитьoh my croips, bad ass little cartridge
ОтветитьWhen I heard it go off and heard the 1600 FPS and the small point its like a miniature version of those cone bombs the terrorists were using to cut through the vehicle armor!! The German pistol round that was made to compete with the 5.7. I have Hesco Level 4 ceramic and thats the way to go unless you lre a baller and you get the Safelife soft Rifle armor and get hit with the new rounds from that 6.4 I think it is
ОтветитьThey make these bullets in America to penetrate armor, they are very similar to this round, thugnsten core, but only available to L.E.
ОтветитьYeah BS I'm sure people going to have those rounds
ОтветитьSwedish made
ОтветитьIt's a unique round and all, but if your level 3 plate can't stop a 9mil, probably should get your money back 😬
ОтветитьThat is a rifle rated plate though.....
ОтветитьI wonder; is there any possibility some of the Russian 9mm PDW ammo (7N21, 7N31 and so on) could achieve something similar?
In other words, any chances you'd be able to test it?
If you have any more 9mm THV ammunition, could you please test it against level IIIA armor backed by ballistics gel? Of couse it would penetrate, but it would still be interesting to see the would channel as they were designed to decrease penetration in soft targets and increase the size of the wound channel.
ОтветитьI saw no hole. You should have put something through the plate to prove it.
Ответитьthe military use tungsten rounds
ОтветитьWow. :)
ОтветитьAnother excellent video!
ОтветитьThis should teach yall its not about the speed its about the material the bullet is made of. Of course distance is a factor as well but you get the point
ОтветитьI love that you do all of this obscure stuff!! Here's a challenge: Obtain and test the Gecko 9mm AP if you can find it. I hear they are rare as hens teeth. Fun fact: Gecko 9mm ap was used in the biggy smalls shooting.
ОтветитьThat's wild I've seen a level III+ steel plate stop a .338 Lapua magnum.
Ответить🤙👊💪🇺🇲
ОтветитьVery interesting projectiles. Super Fast!
Now shoot the same bullets at plain clay blocks. It displays the energy transfer differently than gel blocks and more fun. You can pound the clay back together easy with a splash of water. 🏜
the main factor here is Velocity/kinetic energy. A Tungsten core round traveling at between 2500/3000 fps WILL defeat that armor!
Ответитьthe old THV load from sage international could!
ОтветитьFunny shit….
Safelife armor commercial right before THIS review…
Hahaha……
What about 9×39? Lol that will definitely punch through some shit
