Great video if I have a bad battery (which I don't). Didn't get any help if the alternator was bad.
Also couldn't see where you were connecting the positive lead on the multimeter to.
So unfortunately, this wasn't much help for me personally.

My ford mustang battery is definitely low it does say check charging systems I don’t have voltage testers I need some tho my car cranks but no start

BUT......somebody told me an alternator isnt magic.....it cant charge a dead battery. So will an alternator even work with a dead battery? That I dont know depending on how many cells are dead.

Okay so my car cranks & the voltage is 12.6 when I tested but it still won’t turn on, what can it be ? 🤦🏻‍♂️ I thought it would be the starter but it cranks a little

My honda civic wouldn't even do that. No lights on the dash OR outside lights would turn on. And wouldn't start. Completely dead.

Real easy to tell, jump it and start it, then disconnect the + and if it stays running, its NOT the alternator

Just one other point to add to an excellent video..On many vehicles, the alternator only charges when the engine revs reach a certain minimum valve, so if you do the alternator test with the engine ticking over, you get a false reading. Best thing to do is get someone to rev the engine gently up to about 1500 to 2000rpm and you should see the voltage rise to around 14v or just over...

I have a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan with a brand new alternator but when I disconnect the hot battery terminal it completely dies. I have a MaxiCOM reader that I plugged into it while I was driving it and it gave me 13.7 but when I stop and it's idling and remove the hot wire terminal the car dies completely. What do you think the problem could be?
