I think im having the same problem as the other people that posted comments... Why does adding that other metal ion alter the properties? I didn't see how it had correlation to the multi directional bonding either... :(

What does the omnidirectional bonding have to do with anything regarding the properties of alloys? I don't see the connection.

So how does the new ion introduced into the metal behave does it also do the omnidirectional thing just letting it's bonds go all over or does it behave more stiffly and so do something to the omnidirectionality of the original metal? Or can it be either way, and that just alters the alloy properties differently? I don't understand why the non-directional bonding is to blame for the alloy properties. Or was the point that that it's somehow easier to take out metal ions and replace them with something because of non-directional bonding because i mean of course if you mix something up it'll have different properties than before...
