Man all you Americans get to stay with your parents for a long time, i was told to leave so I was out the door at 16 😅 and I moved to Glasgow lived there for a good couple of years then I moved back closer to home which isn’t far from Glasgow and got a house here. I would of loved to stay with my parents just a little bit longer I felt like a child being flung into the real world with no tools lol 🧰 but this mum is clearly too much

The mother has abandonment issues. She tries to hold on to her daughter because she doesn’t want to be left alone. So, she chases away potential boyfriends and tells her the world is bad so she stays at home with her. The mother needs a mental health professional.

overprotective parenting ruined my relationship with my mom. for one she always want me to feel like inwas scared of her so I wouldn’t mess up but ended up worse with my communication skills couldn’t talk to her about anything cause she would have the fear of god in her etc, she was so focus on tryna make me not be like her to the point where she was controlling. wouldn’t let me out her sight couldn’t see friends when I was old enough to go to birthday parties or just things in general a normal teenager would want to do. I couldn’t. it made me sneaky it made me not trust her and still til this day she tries to still do the same even tho i’m moved out on my own now at 24 moved at 22. I barely go see her barely like to talk to her cause she controlled most of my life so I have to figure out who I am without being under her supervision. she still try’s to control from a distance but I don’t be having that. respect my boundaries im grown now

I felt like she took the words right out of my mouth. I’m speechless. My mother does the same exact thing. I thought it was normal. And I’m older than that girl. I had to tell her she needs to respect my boundaries and she still crossed them anyway directly after I told her and I have a great head on my shoulders for my age. It’s a little sad how some parents can’t trust their parenting skills. I think it’s a sign of guilt, insecurity and fear. But as long as I trust God first then myself I’m going to be good. I won’t let outside fear interfere with my success in life. Let your adult children fly please🦋 It’s hurtful to our well being and growth. Imagine a baby bird never leaving the 🪺. what a limited and unfulfilling life. Babies fall when learning to walk then eventually master walking. Thank you.

My overprotective mom threatened me, so I had to part ways with mines. It took me a long time to figure out who she was. She thought I was still a child, darn near 40 years old taking care of myself and she’s trying everything to ruin my life. She wanted to interfere into my financial situation, relationship, everything and I had to say no more and go on with my life.

My father was obsessed with all of us. He didn’t work so he was around us 24/7. He didn’t want me to leave at 18, he threaten me. He didn’t want me to go to school either. My mother couldn’t work. He was abusive beating her with a belt every night when that broke he used other stuff. He didn’t think he was controlling or overbearing. He thought he was protecting us. That’s all he did every day was be abusive and claimed Allah said he could do that. Where in the quaran does it say beat your wife amd give her black eyes?
