Thanks man, i've been wathing your videos for a while and i was wondering why i can't get this part right.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьCan you or any one tell me why when I do stroke to path it changes the shape alittle bit ???
ОтветитьOh man, I was following along on an old tutorial and that Old Sequence was driving me insane!! LOL!
ОтветитьHi! Im trying to do a decal on cricut from inkscape of just an stroke triangle but when i up load to cricut the whole black triangle appear instead of just the stroke. how can i fix this? thanks
ОтветитьFinally found the answer after several months why when I copy what you do in your old tutorials, the break apart was not working and the description on my status bar was different than yours! I was getting crazy 😅
ОтветитьInner circle is bigger at new version, it creats problem for other shapes, how to adjusy it if we want to fill exact space for bigger circle?
ОтветитьGreat 🙄always love when they switch shit up after you learned it and used it in a very specific way for years.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! Started following along with old tutorials again after a few years of brainrot and was confused as hell why extra folders kept showing up in layers. I get the change but having been used to the old way... F7U12!!!!
Ответитьyoure the man thanks a lot!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьGreat Video thanks.I have a recent problem I cannot sort out. It also shows on your video. The fill bleeds into the stroke. Cannot work with it. Obviously I am doing something wrong. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Ответитьohhhhhh i thought i was just stupid and doing it wrong lmao
ОтветитьOMG you saved my life :D,
Ответитьthankyou, new to design i was having big problems following old tuts, now i know why :)
ОтветитьThank you Nick! I have learned a lot through your old and your new path described here.
BTW, the old "stroke to path / break apart / union" command sequence still works after Inkscape's update if the circle only has an stroke color and no fill color.
Thanks Nick ✌
ОтветитьHello, Thanks a lot for all your tutorials, I have been learning from you some years ago.
I have an specific question about working with strokes.
how can I leave the stroke length fixed, example 75 mm, and bend it in different direction but keep the 75 mm length?
Im designing LED signs and I must have pieces of 25, 50, 75, 100 mm etc.. length, then I need to adapt the drawing to this restriction.
Greetings from Mexico.
Thanks a lot for your help.
THANK YOUUU!
ОтветитьJust found this. Ignore my comment on your earlier video :)
ОтветитьThank you so much Nick for helping me figure this out. You are a great teacher.
Thanks again Nick
Super frustrated because this still is not working for me. After screwing around with this for more than an hour I just gave up. : ( You're awesome Nick, just don't know why it's not working on my end.
ОтветитьLegend. Stumbled across this whilst trying to figure it out. Thanks for the help
ОтветитьYOOOOOOOOOO TY BROOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ОтветитьWait. How do we get the red ring again?
ОтветитьThanks Nick,
much appreciated. Now I can complete all those tutorials that stopped as soon as this sequence was mentioned.
keep up the good work mate! 👍🐺👍
Thanks for this, I was getting frustrated trying to figure out why I couldn't get it to do what I wanted! Where it seems unintuitive is if you draw a straight line and then do "Stroke to path", the path appears but then there is a zero thickness object left behind which was causing me problems when the SVG was opened in another program.
ОтветитьCan we do it in this way?
Just make two other copies of the object by duplicating two times. each one is bigger than the previous one by a) simply locking the ratio or dragging the object with shift key pressed. b) Put the biggest one lowest and the smallest one at top. c) center all of them. d) select the middle one and the biggest one e) click difference.
pl. comment on this procedure.
Thanks for telling I was stuck with your one of tutorial from 2016
Ответитьthank you so much for this! i was so confused when stroke to path didn't work until I watched your video :)
Ответитьlife saver
ОтветитьThank you very much!
ОтветитьThank you❤️
ОтветитьThanks bro very much
ОтветитьThanks, Nick. I was so used to the old method.
Ответитьyeaaa i tried to do some of your tutorials with inkscape v1.0 but i had this issue so it's what i did; first i removed fill then, stroke to path, break apart and union. its also works.
ОтветитьThis 3 minute video has changed my life
Ответитьthank you i was getting angry
ОтветитьThanks for this. I've been banging my head against the wall, thinking I am just not understanding your instructions.
One thing I learned from this problem, though, is to pay attention to the status bar at the bottom of the screen that reports what is going on when the user performs an action. This little action reporting feature can be enlightening, esp. when you are doing other than what you think you are doing. It also teaches more about the inner workings of Inkscape.
i feel like there is something wrong i can't figure it out but i try in my way
thank you so much for this explanations
Hi Nick. I was watching your previous video on the object to path, break apart and union video, and I struggled my ass off in trying to get the functions to work like you show in your previous video. Then I figured out (before I stumbled onto this video of yours) that if you turn the fill off on each layer of the snowman once you send it to the bottom, and before you go to object to path, not only don't you lose your nodes but it works with the break apart function and the difference function too
ОтветитьAble to fix path combine/intersection issue after this.
Thanks!
Thank you, that explains a lot. I was blaming myself when following your older tutorials and getting stuck
ОтветитьI love you so much. I've go stuck on your tutorial "impossible star" just because of this inkscape update.
ОтветитьThank you for the update! Do you know a way to turn that 'no more a stroke' object into the ordinary path? With nodes only in the middle as with regular paths.
ОтветитьI think this was the best tutorial of all the Inkscape tutorials :D I figured out the workaround by myself already after being heavily frustrated that it just did not work like it was shown in your videos. I assumed that probably changes where made in the behavior of "stroke to path" and it is SO good to see I was right. Wish I had found this video earlier before trying to find out what's going on by myself :D
Nevertheless, this series of tutorials is awesome and really good quality. Like in 3D Modeling you have to find ways to create shapes and it's so helpful to see how complex shapes can be constructed with boolean operations performed on basic shapes.
Thanks, still easy if you know this. Thanks a whole heap for your tutorials.
ОтветитьFor text, I wound up having to Object>Ungroup twice to make it work.
Ответитьok so I am trying to learn inkscape by following your tutorials and they're so helpful. I decided to start with the box tutorial and had been pulling out my hair over this because i couldn't make it work in the new version. Now it works but when I do it, the contour disappears. I can get it back with shift click color, but i would like to understand why it disappears? Could you explain?
