Kostya was a great boxer, he possessed power above his weight and speed, it is shameful the way he was perceived in the US, it shouldn't matter about nationality greatness is greatness, anyway Kostya was not one to make excuses, he was sick when he fought Vince Philips, but didn't tell Johnny Lewis as he would of cancelled the fight. He deserves his place in boxing history.

I met him in Athens at the European championship in 1989 he was my idol.

Well he seemed successful and influential.

Yeah, when he first arrived in Australia, he lived around the corner from me in Sans Souci. I would pass his house tucked away off Rocky Point Rd on my way to school. He's an Aussie legend. Beloved in this country. Cool as a cucumber. Amazing athlete. Great role model.

Tszyu could fight. But he was a brilliant boxer when he chose to be. The exhibition he put on against Ben Tacky showed just how good a boxer he was. He won every round on all the judges score cards except one round, where one judge only, gave the round to Tacky. Deservedly inducted into the Hall of Fame of boxing
