Thoughts on Joey Heatherton? As a teenage boy with raging hormones I once bought an album of hers just for the sexy picture of her on the cover.
ОтветитьJoey Heatherton was one of the most stunningly attractive women I've ever seen on the small screen. I remember seeing her on The Dean Martain show and Joey was one of the Gold Digger dancers. But what I remember most was the RC Cola commercial she did in 1969. WOW she was soooo hot. I was 16 years old at the time and she was 9 years my senior. I started drinking RC cola then too, go figure. Sad day when she hooked up with Rentzel.
ОтветитьLooks like Joey Heatherton also had a nude pictorial ten years earlier in 1987 in some lesser known adult magazine called 'High Society'.
ОтветитьI always wished she would bear my children.
ОтветитьJust ran across your video and felt compelled to add a little history.
After my father divorced my mother back in 1959, he eventually met and dated Joey Heatherton. I was around 5 or 6 at the time and lived with my mother in Glendale, CA. I actually didn’t learn about my father and her relationship until later in life. I thought you’d find this interesting as I sure did the first time hearing about it.
Thanks, Ron
Joey Heatherton was very beautiful and sexy. I give great credit to her, Rachel Welch, Anne Margaret and others who went to Vietnam to support the troops. Especially when so many entertainers turned against our military. I spent 4 years in the Marines during Vietnam and served there during the end of war but not a full tour. Joey was a good person, God bless her and the other girls.
Ответитьshe was the epitope of hep elegant glamor
ОтветитьNotice how the cross in inverted in her hand, she was sex programmed
ОтветитьI thought she was truly talented. She really f**ked herself with her personal choices. She was an example of how NOT to underestimate the power of the press, and public opinion.
ОтветитьIn my teen years and through my college years, I was obsessed with Joey and I longed to see her live. Then the Rentzel incident happened and I was devastated. He did contribute a lot to the downfall of her career. I wished her the best and was happy she divorced him. I wished her better and the retrieval of her career. Sadly, she never could revive it fully. But I still love her and wish her well. She will always have a fond place in my heart.
ОтветитьJoey is remembered as one of the most gorgeous women ever!
ОтветитьThat explained it! I had forgotten about the marriage to Rentzel, but I did remember his arrest. What I remember of Joey is a B&W photo of her - in Sports Illustrated, I think - that showed her in a tight dress that really showed off her bust. I was at the age - pre-porn - when a photo like that was both shocking and arousing in equal measure. Which sounds ridiculous today, but that one clothed pic was one of the most provocative things I had ever seen, and I still remember it today.
ОтветитьI remember, I read a book, in High School about her ex, the Football player. He was candid about what he did and why. I wouldn't be surprised if that was why her career went bust. Hollywood people are a damned fickle bunch.
ОтветитьShe was the hottest girl I every connected with in the 60s. More than her Serta commercial--which I find pretty cheesy--her hottest commercial was for RC Cola. "Escape, come on over to Royal Crown Cola . . . ."
ОтветитьJoey's pictures from Playboy were obviously shot years earlier, locked in a vault, and put on the auction block.
Playboy won.
Smart business move for Joey. Show limited skin during your career, keep a secret stash of nudes from when you were in your prime and there's your retirement fund.
I sure as hell ,dont remember her that much at all .Is she still alive ?????
ОтветитьI remember a bunch of old married dudes that lived in the same neighbor hood as her in north Dallas talk about waiting to watch her out working in her yard. Bunch of old Baptist Church pervs.
ОтветитьA blip on the radar
ОтветитьThere was only one thing that got me to run the mile home from school when I was a kid... it was when Joey Heatherton was on the Mike Douglas show.
ОтветитьMy mom met Joey and my mom said she was a total diva. It was past her heyday and demanded to be first in line by saying do you know who i am. My mom was the only one who knew
ОтветитьYou really should learn the pronunciation of the names of people in your videos.. The stress in Rentzel is on the first syllable.
ОтветитьMarilyn Monroe did fine after her Playboy shot I think Joey should have picked a better picture for the comeback the happy hooker led to a lot of jokes in Tabloid Trash
ОтветитьIts obvious that Joey couldn't meet Lance's needs....maybe she wasn't all that she was "cracked" up to be ! ! !
ОтветитьDave sounds like a little twit
ОтветитьAlas, I wasn't paying attention, as I was intensely training in martial arts and this slipped from view .. .
ОтветитьI seen her with Bob Hope in Vietnam in 1967 a very beautiful and sexy woman we loved her
ОтветитьAnytime a performer takes an extended hiatus from their career they risk being forgotten and losing, perhaps forever, their place in the public consciousness. New actors and musicians are always trying to make their mark and when they do... well...the consumer dollar is a little like pie... there's only so much to go around.
ОтветитьI need to go buy a new mattress, right now.
ОтветитьA certain Genesee Quah.
ОтветитьDrugs destroy you kids....figure it out.
ОтветитьJoey was an IT girl, a grade A sex symbol, w acting talent. I remember her in Of Mice & Men.
Dallas sucks. Go Eagles!
I'm sure many today would hear about the Lance Rentzel indecent exposure episode and think, "so what?". But back then it was a major scandal. Whether that is what let the air out of Joey's success or not, she was a class act from the old school and should have had a bigger career.
ОтветитьYou think that about every Rinser that comes along.
ОтветитьThe only person who went nude and helped her career was Madonna, she play it perfectly. Joey was in a rare position that got her noticed, meet the wrong guy and took her career in the wrong direction. personally speaking not many in Hollywood had a long-term career and Joey might of been at her end anyway.
ОтветитьBeautyful lady, in the end she was found with drugs, (during the stabbing incident Wikipedia) and I think this led to her downfall. I sort of remember her falling off the stage at a performance but don't hold me to it.
ОтветитьThat indecent act may have cost the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl V. They lost to the Baltimore Colts 16-13 and they were without Rentzel, who was the team's leading receiver when he was deactivated to deal with the charges.
ОтветитьYep. The husband. Not her. She was devastated!!!! Sadly, it ruined her life and career.
Ответитьthe absolutist smokin' hottiest of all the hotties in her prime (which lasted into her 50's and beyond!!) We love you Joey!
ОтветитьSUCH A SEXY WOMAN!!!!!!!!! TOO BAD, SHE DIDN'T KNOW, HOW TO PICK 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE WAS, HIS BEARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINE, AS SHE WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WAS A, FREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND NOT, IN A GOOD WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS LOVED, THAT COMMERCIAL, BECAUSE OF HER, OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN IT CAME ON, YOU COULD HEAR, A PIN DROP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI always thought Joey's love life took the biggest hit with the Lance Rental scandal because it seems she loved the guy. Hollywood hired her and she often was on tv shows of that era but from afar it seems she struggled in her personal life more than work life. Fans always loved her and Joey was always popular.
ОтветитьHad that issue of playboy under my mattress for almost a year.
ОтветитьIt isn't like she was a great actress, she was a lot of fluff, very nice fluff too! Her singing was very good in a smokey kinda way. I recall her TV performances as being pretty good. She was very easy to look at too.
ОтветитьI remember her, very very pretty! She just disappeared.
ОтветитьShe was trying to take Marilyn Monroe’s place. Maybe she was JUST a bad actor.
ОтветитьAny one find that last picture of Joey a little strange? Like her holding a cross upside down is kind of subliminal in a way. I might be reading more into it than what it is but it does seem intentional.
ОтветитьI'm a Boomer and remember The Merry Mailman on NYC TV in the early 50s, I can still hear his opening theme song, sung by Ray, in my head. It was a show very much like Captain Kangaroo or Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, with a warm, avuncular star who had a charming demeanor and very pleasant voice. He'd read letters from kids every day. My recollection of JH's 'Jump The Shark' moment was 'Bluebeard.' At that point, nobody was going to see Richard Burton because of his acting chops, the only reason anyone (me included) went to see this turkey was to check out JH's goodies, on display for the first time. As you point out, nudity always seems to be a last ditch effort to revitalize a flagging career, and it rarely if ever works. MM, maybe? Bardot?
ОтветитьSerta still benefits from this commercial!
ОтветитьShe was truly a foxy lady
