And also, you actually believe that most of America is urban strip malls. Which is laughable. America has some of the most diverse varieties of terrain of any country. Vietnam may have been heavily fought in the jungle, but America can be fought in so much more than that. If there was one country that would be hell to fight in besides the military alone, America would be one of the most hellish because there’s simply so many different kinds of places and terrain for the people to use to their advantage against an invading force.

So if the Army had one hell of a time against the Viet Cong, then it’d be even worse for them against a far more massive citizenry using guerilla warfare across the country.

I’d love to see you address the people who want to arm teachers, and would expect a teacher to immediately arm themselves with their easily accessible firearm and rush out into a hallway that is probably teeming with panicked children and quickly identify, target, and eliminate the one child in hundreds that is the threat without killing, injuring, or possibly endangering any of the other children or teachers (that also burst out of their classrooms firing!). Today I've written my usual argument that at the time your constitution was written, guns where fire sticks that only worked on sunny days. For the first time I got a response "The constitution says what it says" which is a funny line if you think about how those people always complain about "sheepish" behaviour.

Here in Australia, when I hear of some random violent public outburst on the news, I can imagine how much worse it would have been if the same had happened in the USA, and I'm grateful for the gun control laws we have here.

I love how every idiot who negatively commented on this video seemed to have only watched Colon Noir's strawman BS response, but not Steve's whole video here. Look, guys, Colon Noir is full of it. He dishonestly represented this WHOLE video, and didn't bother to address Steve's responses.

Steve Hofstetter is correct. The privacy and security of the information in the NICS is governed by regulations. The FBI takes extensive measures to ensure the security and integrity of the system information and agency use. The NICS is not to be used to establish a federal firearm registry. Information about an inquiry resulting in a firearms receipt or transfer is destroyed, per NICS regulations. But gun advocates say, well those records still exist at the gun shops where the background check started. Well if gun shops are keeping such records for say tax records and they are giving out that information to others then the gun shops are violating the privacy rights of their customers. And it's that level paranoia among gun advocates that creates a rich environment for comedians. So when gun advocates are so paranoid that they suspect the gun shops of betraying them at the point of sale there are good jokes about gun shop owners mistrusting gun advocates and jokes about gun advocates mistrusting gun shops.

as a resident of a country with gun control i'm pleased to announce I've never been shot at, had a gun pointed at me, or had to run from a school/mass shooting incident

Japanese firearm restrictions are so strict that the shooter that assassinated Shinzo Abe had to build his own firearm using pipes, duct tape, ball bearings, electrical wires, and a 6v lantern battery to discharge the weapon.

I find the "Armed society is a polite society" to be the most sociopathically disturbing argument for guns. This is basically a person who is telling you that they would murder you if they felt you were rude to them. They're the last people who should be trusted with guns.

When he compares the restrictions on the first ammendment to demmand restrictions on the second ammendment he shows his ignorance.

There are Numerous Federal and Local restrictions on the second ammendment.

Here are just Some of the limitations:

1. Fully automatic weapon are illegal without a FFL
2. Explosive devices are illegal
3. Guns with a caliber larger than .78
4. Many states require a pistol permit to own a pistol
5. Suppressors and silencers are illegal in most states, and require extensive permits and background checks in the few places they are legal.
6. Large capacity magazines are banned or limited in many cities and states
7. You cannot carry a gun in a government building unless you are a uniformed law enforcement officer.
8. You cannot carry a gun in a school unless you are a uniformed law enforcement officer.
9. New York State requires a pistol permit to carry a gun in NY city that is separate from a standard NY state gun permit.
10. Most gun purchases require a criminal background check.
11. Many cities and states have waiting periods before you can take your gun home, even after passing a criminal background check.
