Did somebody say single malt? I'd recommend Balcones if you want a big flavor bomb. Stranahans single malt solera cask is my go to regular And if you want a challenging single malt Stone Imperial cask strength, distilled from their Imperial stout it is a whiskey that you can disect for hours.
ОтветитьAnother bottle that I won’t be purchasing 😂 Happy living through y’all with these Crown Royal offerings. They do make a nice velvet bag…
ОтветитьMaybe the gnats come in on that birds nest on top of Trent's head?
ОтветитьNorthern harvest rye is indeed really good. Works well in a manhattan. I think it's only available in Canada, though.
Ответитьlol at the broken glass sound effect when Trent threw the bag 😂
Ответитьlol funniest head knod end ever. But Trent is right. The signal line is “right down here in the good old basement bourbon bar”
ОтветитьAt 55usd, you're getting it much cheaper than here in Canada - here, the 90CAD price tag really sours the already unexciting taste. You could get a truly good, 10-12yr single malt scotch for that, and crown's less expensive XO blend tastes much better.
ОтветитьDid Trenton grow up in a book bag?
ОтветитьThe only CR release I actually enjoyed was Monarch. How does this one compare?
ОтветитьVirginia Distillery Co. has 3 new American Single Malts. Port finished is great. They also have Cabernet finished and cider cask finishes
ОтветитьYou would think rye whiskey connoisseurs would know about an international award winning whiskey in Northern Harvest
ОтветитьI wonder how does it compare to the Stranahan's Blue Peak
ОтветитьKarate Kid with Jaden Smith is not The Karate Kid. That’s the Kung Fu Boy stolen from The Karate Kid
Ответитьkurt, single malt just means its from the same distillery. it can still be a blend and a SM
ОтветитьNever ever discard the bag. Give it to a nerd friend for their D&D dice!
ОтветитьFilthy.
ОтветитьThe first and last time I had a pour of Crown Royale was 2004. It was a terrible tasting experience. I ve developed my palate greatly since then, but I think I'm traumatized. I can't force myself to buy a pour or a bottle. Sounds like I'm not missing anything.
ОтветитьI collect Crown Royal and I have 19 different flavors. I'm looking for Crown Royal XR Red. I have Blue, looking for red Someone please tell me where I can find it. I retire from the military and I'm having a CR party
ОтветитьYou guys were too generous...no f'ing way would I pay $55 for that
ОтветитьUsed use those bags for marbles when we were kids the good old days 😂😂
ОтветитьAs a Canadian I will say it's not a big big deal here lol.
ОтветитьI drank Canadian whiskies almost exclusively for many years. The regular Crown Royal was my special occasion bottle. But, in 2019, that was changed when my wife and I toured the Jack Daniels’ distillery. Been chasing bourbon and rye whiskies since then. P.S. The best single malt I have had so far is from Cedar Ridge.
ОтветитьLOL Viewer Discretion Advised, indeed. Thanks for sharing this review! We've been curious about this bottle and greatly appreciate your thoughts.
ОтветитьSingle malts should be left to the scotts
ОтветитьTrent tried to fill it to the brim.
ОтветитьSmoove...
Ответитьmaybe i got a bad bottle but i was not a fan of the northern rye. had a chemical taste to it
ОтветитьHave you guys done a review of the Crown Royal single barrel at 103 proof?
ОтветитьCrown Royal "XR" Red box from the Waterloo Distillery now sells for over 800 on secondary....so someone likes CR..LOL
ОтветитьCR Noble Collection, Barley Edition is an extraordinary blend of whiskies distilled from 85% unmalted and 15% malted barley grains, aged for at least 5 years. CR did a 100% Barley edition as part of their Noble Collection which is actually quite good. I thought the Harvest Rye was horrible but their 16 Year Rye also a Noble Collection release was life changing for the price. FYI.
ОтветитьMy first whiskey was Crown Royal so I will always enjoy some. Have quite a few. Just got two single barrels so looking forward to trying that soon. Great show as always!
ОтветитьGot one for you to try...Cragganmore 12 year Speyside Single Malt Scoth Whiskey.
ОтветитьIt’s a great single malt. Crown did a great job on this one. Already one of my favorites. That Crown Barrel select is a whole different level though.
ОтветитьNot even surprised Trenton hasn't seen Karate Kid at this point
ОтветитьNorthern Harvest top shelf, award winning. Black is also good
ОтветитьAged 10 years...
ОтветитьHoly tan Trenton!!
ОтветитьSounds like a $25 dollar bottle
Ответить1 to try and include if you do a single malt blind - Stranahan's Blue Peak single malt. Given it's finished in Solera barrels, it might have a chance! Was gonna also suggest Woodford Reserve, but it's a straight malt, not a single malt.
ОтветитьI'm Canadian and not a fan of Canadian whisky. Having said that, Northern Harvest is good and did win a world whisky award when it came out. I'm curious about this one.
ОтветитьOMG, had to pause and say it's sort of shocking you didn't know Jim Murray "crowned" Northern Harvest as World Whiskey of the Year back in 2016. 😮
ОтветитьSounds not too dissimilar from the standard Cedar Ridge single malt to me. The Cedar Ridge had a good bit of that toasted what I call cereal grain type of note to me but did have some fruit to it as well. Similar price point as well.
ОтветитьKarate kid...c'mon Trenton your better than that. That's ur hw assignment
Ответить103 emails is a slow afternoon for me lmao
ОтветитьCrown Royal and Canadian Club Classic are my two faves from my home, the land of the North.
ОтветитьGive me Alberta Premium Rye all day long!!!
ОтветитьDefinitely smooth for a single malt give it a 7
ОтветитьHey! Can anyone tell me about a Crown Royal promotional box that has “Crowning Moment, special edition label photo frame”?
Ответитьain't nothing wrong with Crown, but it could be better. Their range can be okay for drinking, but is also perfectly fine for mixing...it's sad because their higher priced stuff just doesn't punch well at the price...except Black and Northern Harvest. Hand Selected is great, but not widely available. I also got a mystery bottle once from a crown employee and it was AMAZING. I was like where is this stuff??? I have hope someday...but as a Canadian (and one with Crown on their doorstep) I am disappointed in this single malt. Canada doesn't have much widely available Canadian malts and Crown had a chance...I agree it's good for beginners, good for bridging from other whisky's, but not at the price...I think part of the issue is the new oak barrels and NAS. Just hasn't had time to develop and I dunno I don't think I'd like something older in new oak regarding barley. It's a Crown...it tasted like Crown...being a malt that's not good.
