Read this: on the send & receive section underneath the iMessage section; I actually clicked just clicked that and let it use my email that’s linked in there.. then it let me click my number and that worked too! 😢😅 tears of joy ! 🥲

Check for an alert under your Apple ID in the Settings main menu. I had an alert saying to update my trusted number. As soon as I did this, the new number was added to iMessage and FaceTime.
I think I got this alert in the first place by logging in to iCloud in my browser and trying to update my phone number.

the thing is my friend has a different type of phone so when i try to message him it won’t work but when i message my other friend and family it works but like they have iphone but he doesn’t so i’m confused. please help me

Done with all these steps, and still both of them not working since last 7 days. Even apple support is not sure. Cant go for a new phone as well, as quick setup, icloud backup will replicate these problems to new phone as it is. Any solution?

nope.. my phone is an older one, not that old, but not ang of the iphone 10-14 or stuff. my problem is that, my messages are turned off, and i cant get them back on no matter what. my messages are also green, and i can only text my mother and one of my friends. i cannot see their texts, though, nor can i see if my text has been delivered or not. its fairly stressful.
