3 Tips I Wish I Knew BEFORE Streaming On Twitch!

My advice is to BE MORE GENEROUS WITH YOUR ENERGY! It may be a bit more exhausting and it may feel or sound silly/strange to you at first. However, you'll receive A LOT more engagement in return. This is the biggest difference I've noticed when comparing content creators with a larger following v.s. those with lower numbers.

didn't have a dedicated room and could hear the living room tv in the background, moved everything to my guest room, much better now! :) still very new went live then realized i can just record have been messing with new equipment and audio/lag issues but your vids are helping thank you!

New to twitch, are you allow to cuss?

I've been streaming for 3 and a half years, despite the great amount of growth I finally got in December 2022 it still dropped off from over 8-9 months and I'm doing terribly once again, I'm doing all the right things such as responding to others, welcoming people, talking about what I am doing in the game, talking about general life stuff when it comes to mind, being consistent with schedules and kinds of games playing, still doing terrible regardless of this, people rarely return, I feel like giving up, I think people don't generally like my voice and facial expressions.

With streaming you must act so you can entertain but there must be some truth to the act or it won't be authentic.

I lost my entire first stream (no VOD or OBS recording lol), save for one clip of me messing up and switching to my "brb" screen in the middle of a story moment. I learned to check and double check all my settings before going live, but also that it's okay if there's something i've missed, and at some point i just need to move on and move forward.

Being too nice is a mistake to never do, don't get me wrong it doesn't mean to be a total trash but never leave people you don't know on Twitch acting like they are your friends or you'll have total stalker thinking you own them all your time.

That's the biggest mistake I made.

for me a big thing i wish i knew was to not rely on reddit for all my stream answers; every question i would post would be removed, or flagged, for "being a repost" but when you go to the post it links you to it's a locked archived thread where 80% of the people talking were arguing over who the biggest streamer was.

My advice to new Content Creators is BE YOURSELF being yourself is the only way you will actually have fun doing what your doing.

I don't think I'll have too much problem being genuine. Because of where I work, I have given up much of my old tendencies to try and fit in or go with the crowd. I do my own thing and if others like it, great, if not, I generally don't care. Idk if that is the entirely correct mindset, I suspect not but who knows.
