Military is a pretty good path too just harder. You come out with 4 years of experience(that you get paid for) possibly a degree and can get all the certs you want using the Army COOL program for free. Go in as a 24H get a bunch of networking experience and reclassify as a 17C and get all the defensive and offensive training. Even do it in the Guard and get a civilian job after AIT.

So I am doing the CISCO Junior Cyber Security Analyst certification. Is this a good one or should I do something else?

A SOC job is a great way to learn a ton about security. Just tey to find one that doesnt pigeon hole you into tier 1.

Great video, I'm starting out in cybersecurity, and I think I was going to make all these mistakes 😮! So thank you. What do you think of soc analyst as a job, good idea or unfortunately not?

Every time I start trying to learn about Kubernetes, I give up a go with the idea that it’s just docker with more containers… which from what I heard that only is correct if you don’t know anything about Kubernetes😂

Governance risk and compliance is the most brain dead high paying job industry I have ever seen. Is that entry or do you have to go from something like security analyst area. Am still watching

Welcome to Cybersecurity, where time off is made up, and the job titles don't matter. That's right, the job titles are like security software on an end-user's workstation.

Thanks a lot for your videos. Please, I need your take on the cissp endorsement process as I am writing the exam soon and want to be endorsed and not just an associate. I have always worked as a security guard over 5 years now, and from my role, I have seen that I do many things. Isc2 said I should have 5 years experience in 2 or more of the 8 domains. I know that my jobs is in domain 3 the physical security aspect but I also believe that I do risk management as a guard as I have to always assess any threats on a site for example, check for any vulnerabilities e.g a broken fence and what could happen if that threat e.g a theif brokes through it and steals. I also write reports and have to update the owners of the site about any threat and vulnerabilities that I found and also advice them on what can be done, but they have the final say on the matter. This is in domain 1, and then in domain 3, you have more physical security. Will this be enough for my endorsement? I also have a degree that takes away 1 year from the 5 years. I have also been learning with groups of people where we try to solve problems, and this started in 2019 kind of an internship, but it was on and off in cloud computing and business analysis. I will be working on many real projects such as iso27001,DLP, Nessus e.t.c soon before I apply for the endorsement will that help? Sorry for my long message, but I just wanted to give you as much information as possible. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hey, I finished my bachelors in software engineering last year and now I am in my masters in AI. However i landed a part time job as a IT Sec Manager because I was very interested in cybersecurity and they were interested in my programming background and I did some hack the box CTF etc. I like the job very much espicially application security and i can imagine doing my career in IT sec in the future. But i like to get a guidance for longterm: Would you recommend doing a career in Cyber Security in general so doing a CISSP sooner or later or change the job to a application security job like pentester (OSCP)? I am currently preferring getting a job as a pentester but I do not know if i live in a dream world. I do some bug bounties, ctf, etc in my spare time but I would not say that i have enough knowledge to get a such job in 1-3 years. However if I stay at the job which i currently have also after my study, I think I can get very much knowledge and experience for IT-sec in general. But i would not learn how to pentest pratically or get a practical skill. It is more a managing job…

what do you think about the platform "LetsDefend" ?

I really like the videos you make, fun to watch ! Not all those other "guru's" that are like "Learn cybersecurity now and earn +100k !" meanwhile they are only showing them drinking coffee and having brakes.

I will stick with the savage bank robber that funny enough gives a lot of value :)

Hahaha im so glad you just referenced SOAR. I just cited a SOAR activity/usage while writing a response in my google cybersecurity certificate course, but absolutely couldnt remember what it stood for, and while logging back into it, allowed this vid to play again for a minute or two, and there it was lol. Thanks.
