So, first of all: Thank you! This is just one in a line of your very inspiering videos. I am a hobbyist from Norway that has finally found time and saving to make my Murphy Bed. I have the same kit as you, AND amongst the bed/sofa-combos that I have found, yours looks by far the best. To put it short: Christmas hollidays is coming up, and I have time. The question is: How did you decide how much you wantet to build up from the floor – and how did you calculate it all to make it work perfectly? Again; Thank you. You are really cool, hehe.

never understood how a murphy bed as an everyday convenience. ya hafta put away all the pillows and blankets/comforter somewhere, then put them back when you wanna just plop on the bed. mebbe good for guests or the occasional party where room is needed. to sleep on daily? nah...

Hi great job - I'm planning on making my own based on your design including using a custom made sofa to support the bed. My main question is without feet at the end of the bed does it move much when you sit at the foot end of the bed and if so could this potentially damage the frame and lift mechanism by putting additional pressure on it in the wrong direction? I really like the way it looks without feet on the end so am keen to follow your design. Hope to hear back from you. thanks.

Good idea. But the matress can't "breathe" when it's lying on a plain piece of wood.

Love this design, but have a question. Won’t moisture go through the mattress to the base cause mould? I thought under the mattress needed slats to be able to breath?
