One thing id mention is that most listeners don't have the proper audio equipment to distinguish from a $400 mic to a $150 option as long as they both are XLR. To hear the very small changes youd have to wear pretty expensive headphones that support the bit rate. The sm7b is the apple of microphones and there are better and cheaper alternatives. One thing i dont like about it is the flimsy XLR connection. also the "mic" portion of the microphone is a $20 unit. Its not worth the $400 price tag and yes audio engineers love it but 99% of the population wont care as in they lack the hardware to actually hear the "full" capabilities of this mic. Better of getting the Rode Pod mic for $100 and a arm for around $50 giving you alot of room to get a audio interface xlr cables and anything else you need. Unless youre recording studio grade audio its a waste of $400 that is better used else where in this hobby. This '"needing the best of everything" is so disingenuous. What makes a good podcast is the content and you. In todays world there are hundreds of avenues to take to get to where you want to be. Also for the people in the comments alot of time they dont have to buy this equipment cause they get sponsored or something else. Ive watched literally over 100 videos on starting a podcast while i wait for my microphone and the most common thing is that the equipment the people are recording on is supplied to them for free. Most of the people who repeat that the SM7b is great mic but dont know why its a great microphone they just repeat what they hear and display it as fact. Yeah its a great microphone if price wasn't a factor but it is and they are far better mics for that price hence the "Apple" of mics.
Edit: I said all of this before he talked about the budget option but it still stands as far as buying these "top" tier options and doing proper research on these products. For instance you could get the stream deck which depending on the one you get is well over $200 or you could get the Novation Launchpad and get a grid of 8*8 buttons with 8 pages so you get 512 buttons to map that are also RGB.
What software do you use?????
ОтветитьNow I want tacos...
ОтветитьZoom p4 + behringer xm8500 I'm going to podcast with this setup, but I'm looking for a nice xlr cable. If I change my microphone in the future, I would be very happy if you could suggest a brand that I can continue without having to buy an xlr cable again. Thanks...
Ответитьwhat software do you use to record the video onto
ОтветитьHow do you have the Freeworld working with the camera, and the camera connected to the computer to work with ECAMM? That's what i'm trying to figure out.
ОтветитьThanks for all of the great info. Can you tell me how you attached your brush cable organizer to your desk. Seems to me made for a rack install. My thanks.
Ответитьdid that remote come with the camera? and will it work with a pocket cinema 4k
ОтветитьAwesome video…thanks for it
ОтветитьNewbie question here. I currently either use a usb mic into my computer or a wireless lav mic connected to my camera. What is the benefit of switching to XLR and the rodecaster pro?
ОтветитьSeems like you have a lot of redundant gear. Both the rode caster and atem don’t seem to be used at all in this video. Seems like just a way to drop a bunch of affiliate links.
ОтветитьGreat video. Are you able to get the BMPCC 6K app (BM) to focus the lens remotely?
ОтветитьI would like to see recommendations for a lightweight, fast setup but professional looking mobile version of podcast lighting equipment that is usable in various locations, without needing to rent from a near shop each time
ОтветитьWait!? So, you pay over $300 for a microphone, and spend more money to get better sound quality!? 🤨
ОтветитьThat cable management underneath gave me anxiety
ОтветитьDo you offset the camera sideways so it is not obscured by the monitor? Looks like your teleprompter is filled up by that thing... Any recommended teleprompter Apps? Nice summary video.
ОтветитьGreat set-up! Thanks for sharing. 🍻
ОтветитьThis is not for the beginner - its like he chose the most expensive equipment possible.
ОтветитьNice 👍
ОтветитьCan you attach the rode pod mic to the blue compass arm boom?
Awesome video!!
Great video.
Ответитьif you haven't already, please make a video on how to set up the rodecaster and mic, as well as how to get them to interface with obs. thank you.
ОтветитьWhere would the headphone plug into ? And where would mic plug into if it doesn’t have any plugs?
ОтветитьI would suggest this is THE BEST podcast setup video I have seen, by a mile. Completely awesome. I am starting a podcast and looking at my setup now - this is a massive step forwards for me. Thank you.
ОтветитьNice video, you would be a perfect candidate with the gear your using for the new Mac Studio. It would be right at home with a setup like yours.
ОтветитьHey, loved your video, am just getting into this field, I wanna ask, what do I need to study to get this easy, 😀 I know I need to study something . Will be very greatful if you get back to me, many thx
ОтветитьWtf this podcast has amazing production value and you explain everything really well! Can't wait until you hit 100k subscribers!
ОтветитьAwesome video thank you so much man
ОтветитьAmazing work you did there!
One question: what kind of light tubes do you use (the ones in the background)? Thanks a lot! ☺️
Can that ATEM Mini Record to a External Hard Drive or is it only built for Livestream ?
ОтветитьThe only bad thing I can see when it comes to ECamm Live is the stutter that happens every 10 to 15 seconds or so, which makes it look like something is wrong with the shutter speed of the camera (picture gets jittery and skips frame).
I am assuming this is happening because of the processing it is doing on the fly. Other than that...seems like a robust program if you are rocking MacOS.
Fantastic video. Thanks.
ОтветитьI do like how you have styled your home Studio. The dark walls are perfect 🤩
ОтветитьG’day mate, I’ve been using my SM7B direct into the Rodecaster Pro without any issues at all? When I see you are using the “sE Electronics - Dynamite Active in-Line Preamp” I had to check it out… BUT at $220 AUD I’m thinking it’s not a necessity piece of equipment for me needs. Weekly Live broadcasting a Music & Talk-back style show for the past two years All Good 👍🏻
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this video. The info is invaluable to say the least 💪. One question I do have is: how are you producing 4k video for your podcast and videos with the ATEM Mini considering it only outputs in 1080p? Are you upscaling somehow in post or recording directly to the camera and then using the timeline from the ATEM and replacing the video from the ATEM with the in-camera 4k recording?
ОтветитьGreat video, lots of great information. Can't wait to watch your channel grow.
ОтветитьThis is amazing. Thank you so much for making this
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this video, Jared 👌
ОтветитьIt's the first time someone uses the gear I own and use hahah
Ответитьgreat gear for such a bad content ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ОтветитьGreat video! Helped me out to decide on a few pieces of equipment.
ОтветитьThank you very much. Everyone trying to sell. I hate that. I think yours seems truthful.
ОтветитьNicely done!
ОтветитьAwesome space and setup well explained. Thanks for sharing this. I also have the Godox VL-150 and really like that light. Great value and performance. I agree about Ecamm - it is such a great tool, and reduces video recording friction for me by a huge amount. Cheers!
ОтветитьDope setup! You’re the second person I’ve seen who uses Ecamm🤔 I might have to try it.
ОтветитьGreat video Jared! What lens are you rocking on that Black Magic? I'm worried about running a wide-angle (20 mm) with a teleprompter.
ОтветитьGreat video bro! Love the setup!
Ответить"You are not going to know what gear you need until you actually get started..." is the the 🔥 'clip out' of the week for me. All I know is Jared's been on a roll lately with getting us content and like McDonalds... I'm Lovin it. 🙌😎
ОтветитьThis was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing with us Jared!!
