Does not work suddenly. Why? I have always has that ext browser setting on. Now it does not do anything. Why there even is possibiliry to choose that ext browser if it Still after that opens with goddam Facebook browser. Why?
ОтветитьNo longer applicable. Facebook has changed things around and now it seems they will not let you open links externally EXCEPT when they are shared via messenger. Another privacy invasion that they are trying to force upon us.
ОтветитьYeah, I prefer to view videos in a browser because the Facebook android app sucks for video viewing. I use the app to find the videos, but then I prefer to copy the link and reopen in a browser. But when I go to the browser version of the video, anytime I click anywhere on it, it flips me right back to the shtty Android app. And this method doesn't stop it from doing that.
ОтветитьIt used to work now it only works in messages not the actual app.
ОтветитьDoesn't work
ОтветитьDoesn't work. Just tried it and no matter what it opens everything in facebook's garbage browser. If you click the 3 dots you can manually open a link externally but you have to do it every single time. The setting shown here does nothing.
ОтветитьThank you. This helped me a lot
ОтветитьMAKE TECH EASIER: This does not work in the iOS app. The option pictured for changing “media” settings is not in the iPad iOS app. Please update or advise. Thx.
ОтветитьMaybe this used to be the case, but it doesn't work anymore. The switch is still there, but still everything opens in Facebook browser and I have to click open in Samsung browser.
ОтветитьGreat thanks!
ОтветитьI posted a link on my wall to my albums but smart phones can't or don't open the link.. How do I get the apps to open the link for everyone else (not just my phone) ?
ОтветитьRight-top corner ➡️ Profile Image ➡️ Settings & privacy ➡️ Settings ➡️ Media ➡️ Links open externally
ОтветитьUseless
ОтветитьGuys stop bashing the creator, he did a very good, at the time of the video, the solution was working perfectly.
New solution: Open settings then Profile Settings > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Profile settings > Media and contacts > Links open externally
Remember to restart when you done.
Media is not a choice on my ipad!
ОтветитьThis does not work anymore
ОтветитьThis guy needs to get straight to the point! Stop explaining why we already know we're trying to do this! We know the why, now we need to know the how!
ОтветитьDoesn't work for all links
ОтветитьThis information is no longer accurate as of November 2022.
ОтветитьThis option does not work. Every 112 hours, any log off or switching accounts, re-enable this damn option again and again. Remember that this helps FB gather data.
ОтветитьI understeand, that Meta needs internal explorers to get more data about us to make more money, but Jeeeez, forcing this nonsense to user with every update is soo pathetic...
ОтветитьDon't waste your time, this video is outdated.
ОтветитьNone of the links you tell us about work anymore
ОтветитьAs of October 2022, Facebook changed the app again, and made it more difficult to find the option to open links in the browser of your choice. It's still there. But Suckerborg keeps playing this same trick to get users to stay inside his walled garden.
ОтветитьPlease update. This does not match the latest app version.
ОтветитьHi, but how do you push facebook app to samsung browser or any other device broswer if you are an afilliate and you need to register afilliate cookies through afilliate links? In Afilliiate marketing a lot of comissions are lost due to this issue. Do you have any solution here or any software or web interface between our afilliate links and customer's device browser? Thanks
Ответитьno option for desktop
ОтветитьSo they've changed the graphics and they obviously don't appear as they would on an apple but I did find this feature it did work although there's still stuff going on in the background that's slowing up my browser this directly related to the fascist programming thugs on Facebook and there will be a window that pops up saying blah blah you're about to leave Facebook with a continued or go back option I don't know if it just does that once or continuously but I use my brave browser function to block scripts when I was on their page so far it's not come back up. ✊🏾✊✊🏿✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽👍🏼
Ответить90% of video is not related to the title
ОтветитьClick gear icon, at search, search "media"
ОтветитьFuck me, they removed it comepletely
ОтветитьIn the facebook app click your picture/menu on the top right > the gear icon > scroll down to media > links open externally at the bottom
Ответитьvideo starts at 1.35
ОтветитьAnyone got a solution for 2022?
ОтветитьI cant find that where you say on the Facebook app.
ОтветитьThis option doesn't even exist as far as I've found. I used to have this option set. But they seem to have updated the browser and eliminated the ability to change your default browser settings. 3(
ОтветитьTHIS DOESNT WORK ANYMORE. If you log out or switch accounts, the option automatically reverts back. Every. Time.
