My favourite song of all time. The animals are super super cute and so is the girl. I wish I could live like these animals.

I first listed to this song when it came out and I was so devastated by it that I was upset for a few days. I didn’t listen to it again until December 18th 2023 when I had to euthanize my best friend, my 12 year old Shiba Inu named Cake. This song’s impact stuck with me for so long that it was a no-brainer to play it for my sweet girl as she passed. Thank you for this masterpiece.

My family rescues animals. Every time one of our long held friends passes, I come here to feel my grief. Thank you for this song and to the artists of this video.

I'm 23, entering the era of my life where I have actually lived. Like my childhood and adolescents have officially passed. I find myself struggling on the daily with nostalgia. The feelings that I can only remember but no longer feel mean so much to me. It's the most wholesome, empty feeling, and I feel this song and video represent that feeling very well.

We had to have our 18 year old cat, Geminee, put to sleep on August 30th, just last week. It was really hard. I ran across this song the next day, and it fits in so many ways, not just the song, but the video, too. She looked like a tiny brown buffalo...a torti with sort of large shoulders, lol, is the only way I can describe her. I will love her forever.

i’ve been listening to this song for years, aching to know one day my childhood dog would be gone. today, she is. 17 years with her. feels like yesterday i was 7 years old, doing chores to earn money to keep her. i remember my mom telling me (in a dollar tree of all places) that the pregnant dog at my dad’s coworker’s animal rescue had puppies. i remember meeting her a few weeks later. she was so small. i could practically hold her in the palms of my tiny hands. i got the privilege to name the whole litter—they had candy names, because their mom was called peppermint. none of her sisters made it to adulthood, but my dog hershey did. and she lived! she lived WELL, her health had been remarkably good for her age, up until these past few months. but she started going blind, getting weak, wasting away, wandering at night. i had to let her be at peace; she kept me company through every stage of my life without asking for anything, and i couldn’t leave her to suffer when she needed me. i am so glad that gotye made this song. it feels like my pain is seen and heard. it feels like release. making the right choice wasn’t easy, but this made it easier. i hope everyone here may all rest well, too.
