Can an Excel table have a formula in its header? I want to have period 23-24 as table header in D4, which is drawn through a formula like =A4

Big fan. This is powerful. I'm a long time excel user and have a great grasp of macros etc. A bit hesitant to implement tables BUT is there a way to make dynamic charts extend when new data is added to a table? It's tedious to change chart series every time new data is added to a row in a table.....I tried with macros for a long time but never found a good solution.

Question here, I've followed this and it's been a great help. I am trying to graph the number of times a unique phrase appears in my table. So I've created the table and then used the unique function to populate all of those cells. In the column next to that I inserted a countif function with the # to dynamically count every time these unique phrases appears. This has all worked wonderfully. Now, when I go to insert a dynamic chart, it does not update! I'm assuming this is because I have two separate dynamic columns that only update if the data changes. Am I missing something? Is there a way around this? Thank you!

Hi. Does anyone know how to get VBA to detect a spill error? I’m looking to detect and automatically insert rows but not found a solution yet.

What I would really like to see is the ability to use the spill functions to create a table. I love the use of the unique function but to use it I then lose all the table structure because it can't be inside a table. So my workaround so far is to have a column before the table with the unique function, then the first column of the table references the column next to it. The only problem I have is that I have to look back at the size of the table because it does not shrink or grow with records being added or removed. Any ideas on how I can get 1 table to use a unique() or filter() of another table to create its records?

Hello,
How can I count how many John names I have in a row of 30 names? How can the answer be converted into a percentage? The name John is 15 times and how do you convert this answer into a percentage (50%) in a single formula.

Do you know why I can't use the hash sign # inside certain formulas? For example, I have spilled ranges in A1:A10 and B1:B10 and in C1 if I enter =MAX(A1#,B1#), the formula does not spill down to C10.

Thanks for this.👍🏻🙂

Seems the symbol should be referred to as an octothorp when the context is just the general symbol (as opposed to a particular use of it). If referring to weight, call it a pound symbol, in social media a hashtag, when quantity, number symbol. Of course not many will know what you're talking about. :)
