I would like to know what you are treating the beam with. More information would be very helpful.

Not sure if anyone else has suggested it, but have you thought about burning the beams to give them a darker colour? I've seen a few people do it to very great effect. Just thought I'd mention it. Love your work by the by.

Really good and simple design. I wish I had a cat like Tilly though the stray cat living in my greenhouse is a short haired version and getting friendlier the more I feed her tuna, salmon and sardines.

I love the gate - i'd be weaving quartered blackberry vines through it to make a pattern (but only because if it were mine it would be a permanent feature, or as permanent as exposed wood can be lol ) One more beam complete - keep up the excellent work !
