In this economy that's far too much money for people to afford for a hat
ОтветитьLol I guarantee you Beyoncé put that hat on for the shoot, took it off after it was done, and never looked at another cowboy hat again lol😂👍
ОтветитьStetson hats aren’t what they used to be.. sure, they’re still made out of quality material, are well made and still one of the best hats to buy aside from other manufacturers that haven’t automated their production processes, but there isn’t really anything unique about them anymore.. instead of being hand made, hand shaped and molded like they used to be, which made each hat unique in its own right, they’ve decided to automate their production process and start using machines to help their bottom line out , causing every hat to have the same curves and molds as every one before it .. they want to make as many hats as they can to maximize profits, instead of worrying about quality.. in my eyes, they’re like every other hat maker out there right now.. the only difference is they use better quality material
ОтветитьDo they pay to their employees well too?
ОтветитьI have a statson , it's 5 thousand dollars to .I take a shit in it all the time , it smells as shity as it looks and is
ОтветитьIn re: Stetsons used by the military...
During the Indians Wars, a 'fedora' or 'brimmed campaign hat' was an issue item but it isn't anymore and hasn't been since War Two.
Nowadays cav troopers [myself included] buy their own Stetson as a private purchase item. Nevertheless, it's as much a uniform item in a cav regiment as your fatigues are and it's an ass-whoopin' offense to mess with another trooper's brim. While there are several companies that produce a 'regulation' cavalry hat, but I personally spent the extra money for a Stetson. It remains a cherished memento of my service with the 11th 'Blackhorse' ACR.
Just got one, already loving it.
ОтветитьPeople have been killed over these hats. RIP Billy DeLyon
ОтветитьStill killing the animals so you can wear a hat , so sad .
ОтветитьWhat's a ten gallon hat and why has it got that name?
Ответитьcowboy hats are the dumbest hats lol
ОтветитьWe call them 'douche' hats.
ОтветитьDoes and an entire piece of the most famous people and forgets US MARSHAL RAYLAN GIVENS???!!!
ОтветитьIF a celebrity wears a hat or anything else, that's a reason not to.
ОтветитьNice beaver
ОтветитьThey are expensive because of the brand. yes they make quality hats but they dont make them like youre supposed to. cowboy hats shouldnt be molded, but shaped by hand.
Btw stetson isnt an original brand. their first popular hat, the boss of the plains, was already patented by a different company when it was released.
I love hearing about natural beaver that is very tight.
ОтветитьI hate that they show Indy. He didnt wear a Stetson. He wore a Herbert Johnson Fedora. Not a "cowboy" Stetson
ОтветитьI bought my hat in 1977 and now I gave to my son and he still wear it !❤ 2023
ОтветитьBecause moron's think a brand somehow makes THEM better, when it just makes them poorer,
ОтветитьWhy would I care if Beyoncé wears a Stetson? 😂😂😂
ОтветитьSaving up to get a stetson hat for the winter. Im so excited to get one 😄
ОтветитьI'll stick to the Akubra.
ОтветитьYou didn’t discuss dying process
ОтветитьLaboristic theory of value was debunked by economics.
ОтветитьDamn. I just wanted to know why they were so expensive. Ended up learning how to make them. Lol
ОтветитьWith how expensive the hats are, I wonder how much the workers make?
ОтветитьThe funny part about cowboy hats, is that it was rare that anyone owned one back in the old west. Only in westerns do you see so many. Old photos tell the truth. They were simply too expensive for most people back then.
ОтветитьThe tragedy of all of this is that not only are those employees likely paid next to nothing, but both beavers and chincillas continue to be killed for hats.
ОтветитьThis is idiotic.
Why is this call “Business Insider?” As anyone with a business degree can tell you, costs don’t determine the price, pricenis determined by supply and demand.
The video on Stetson Cowboy hats reminds me of the history of American Mountain Men who trapped beaver in the 1820s for European Hats. The practice stopped in the 1830s when European Hats for Beaver went out of style. A beaver must be killed in order to make a beaver pelt.
ОтветитьWhy do you keep showing Indiana Jones' hat? he did not ever wear a Stetson, he wore a Fedora, and not made by Stetson, it was made by Herbert Johnson. please stop spreading bad and incorrect information.
Ответить😢 shame on them
ОтветитьHow were cowboy hats made in the old west without those machines?
ОтветитьStetson hats aren't just hyped up, those things last for generations. Seriously, if you're in the market for a quality hat just bite the bullet and buy Stetson.
ОтветитьNo 'cowboy hat' is worth that amount of coin. Only a NARCISSIST would pay those prices. If that offends you---take a peek in the mirror.....
ОтветитьSomeone would buy a hat for $5,000????????
ОтветитьIndys hat is a herbert johnson fedora. Not a Stetson.
ОтветитьIndiana Jones hat wasn't a stetson is was made by a buffalo hat maker.
ОтветитьNice hats that lower one's perceived IQ a full 20 points.
ОтветитьThe cost is way over the roof. But have you ever felt its comfort on your noggin. I wish they built something close to that in the construction industry.
They are getting better. I'll give you that
American Hat Co are better.
ОтветитьCrazy I bet not one of those workers make $20 an hour
ОтветитьYeah 600$/lbs for the fur, for two hats that sells 250$/each.
600$ they pay + the manual labor, water, electricity, chemicals, shipping, packing, and tons of handmade process.
Yet it somehow worth it for them .... Typical scam. The reality is that :
The fur and other stuff they buying, might cost anywhere from 10 to 110$ not more.
And the salary they're paying for those Mexicans is definitely not more than 16$/ hour.
Neat that they're still using the same equipment from over 100 years ago.
ОтветитьDon’t get me wrong a Stetson never failed me but a good rodeo king felt always have a good tuff beaver skin too
ОтветитьImpressive work
Always amazing to think back , how did they figure all this out !
I learned something
Stetson acquired the iconic Indy Fedora through licensing. They bought the icon, then let it expire.
Ответитьi'm wearing my dads stetson he wore for many years after he passed away i received it, still wearing it today and i'm 75... great hat
Ответить
