Wow, really insightful video, these tips will come handy to a lot of photographers. I've found the 4x5 aspect ratio tip extremely useful, it really does take up more screen space. Also, speaking of engaging captions, I've been using boost app social, helps with crafting captions, descriptions and all sorts of stuff related to social media. It's pretty cool.

With any kind of digital content you need to remember, to see results your photos NEED to be the absolute best they possibly can be. If you're on LR desktop then high quality presets can take your photos 80% of the way there with the final 20% being to you to do that extra bit. I'm all for making them but really if you're starting out they can really propell you into positive directions. If you're on LR desktop and the film look is your thing Alex Ruskman's presets have taken my content to another level.

Tl;Dr: shill for camera corporations, hard, and they might reward you with 20 reposts! Be an aging egomaniak who likes to shoot "creative" selfies. Aim at the lowest common denominator and corny likable ideas that will cater to total noobs with no taste.

A great video, thank you. I'm a photographer who has been reluctant to join the apparent necessity (according to marketing consultants I've spoken to ) to have an Instagram account. Frankly, it seemed too much of a faff to keep reformatting , posting and managing the account just to float above the flotsam and jetsam and other mindless crap. But, I'm wondering if its a necessary evil and I've got to put some effort in to get some results (i.e. engagement and recognition) . So here's me looking at your video and others to assess the pros and cons...and then I discover that some are saying VERO is a better and immerging option for photographers wanting a social media platform. What's your view on VERO ? Every day's a school day.

I just deleted instagram. That’s the only tip I feel is worth considering.
