As a tall and curvy woman (5 '11'') from the Balkans, I've dated both shorter and taller men. However my experience with this one guy who was shorter than me, was that he was very unhappy because of his height, he forbade me to wear heels, and he combed his hair in such a manner that it seemed that he was taller than he really was... That was a negative example, he had a lot of complexes and issues not limited to his height.
My husband is almost a full head taller than me, so in my relatively limited experience, tall girls seek taller guys to feel feminine, petite, and delicate.
There is one more reason, I'd say. In most cases, when you are looking for a partner after a certain maturity, you are looking for a future father of your children. So, you are searching for the optimal genetic material - in my country, tall, dark (that's optional; my husband is a dirty blonde), and handsome is a winning combination. 😉

My height was 175 cm at the age of 14 and after that my height stopped growing. Maybe because at that time I used to feel sick in every 4 month. After reaching the age of 18 I often used to feel sad that I wasn't able to become taller then my father (181 cm). But now I don't feel like this anymore. 😊

real talk I'm 5'8" and really most of the hindrance is online. in person dating is pretty normal, even with girls taller than myself. oddly enough girls 5'10" and up care less than girls between like 5'5" and 5'9".

I think the biggest thing that helped was getting my weight up to a lean >180lbs and being pretty strong. if you can easily lift up a tall girl she will forget all about the height difference lol

however there's no way around that height is an advantage for men, much like big tits are an advantage for women. not the end-all be-all but certainly a leg up. as a short guy you're gonna have to try harder. stay groomed, make money, be fit, know how to fight (mostly for your own confidence) and most importantly have a good sense of humor. but once you meet all that criteria i think you'll just like yourself better which is what really matters

I have a particular thing for the taller ladies. Part of it has to do with those nice long legs of course but an even bigger thing for me is that in my experience taller women give some of the best damn hugs I've ever experienced. Unfortunately not being a particularly tall guy myself, I'm probably 5'7 at most, I often tend to fall short of the minimum height threshhold a lot of taller ladies seem to prefer.

I'm a short man and I've always been attracted to women taller than me. I'm about 5'1" and I like women who are in the 5'8"- 6' range. But I also want them to be a kind person. If society is ending othee stereotypical biases, this one can end too. Just look at Mario and Peach, they are a cute couple.

In my teenage years I didn't really see guys being shorter than me as a problem. Until people started asking me if I had a fetish (I also crushed on some taller guys, but I guess that's what everyone sees). Then some shorter guys whom I would like also treated me horribly and made me feel like I wasn't a "real" girl. To be fair, I was a high achieving student back in the day, so maybe it was insecurity issues. Ever since then though, it's been hard for me to consciously be ok with shorter guys. Glad things are changing though. Hopefully the next generation won't mind it so much. There's so much more to people than the inches they're comprised of.

I am 6ft tall so it is nearly impossible for me to date a taller man. Not because there aren't and men taller than me, but most tall men want 5'2" women for some reason. I'll tell you where this stereotype comes from. People are traditionalists for the most part, they notice differences and simply don't accept it.
