12 years later and you are still helping people with water leaks. Thank you! I will be trying it very soon.
ОтветитьGreat instructions! I fixed my dripping shower head in under an hour. A 4.99 pack of new springs and washers did the trick. Without finding a how to guide I probably would have replaced the whole internal unit.
ОтветитьThank you! 🤑
First I tried replacing just the washers and springs. Helped, but still dripped. Ended up replacing the whole cartridge.
Awesome. Thank you. When calling delta is there a Model number? I fixed one. But the other one is actually broken.
ОтветитьThanks Tim
ОтветитьThis was the best, most concise, video presentation on this particular task that I have seen. I felt like I knew exactly what to do and I did it. It worked perfectly. Thanks!
ОтветитьIf your brass collar is hard to loosen, spray some WD-40 on the threads & let sit for 10 minutes. If the cartridge is stuck in the valve body, use a small paintbrush & CLR (calcium, lime, rust remover product) to "paint" the inside of the valve body. My cartridge was so stuck in the body that it broke in half when I tried to pull it out.
Ответитьyou need strap wrench instead of pipe wrench to remove nut and prevent damage
ОтветитьThank you for this video, I thought I was gonna have to replace gaskets to get the hot water to be hotter. I did not have to go to the store to purchase parts. Thank you so much for your help.
ОтветитьHot water not to hot???????
ОтветитьHow to remove the handle was the part I needed.
ОтветитьHow can I get one out that’s stuck from hard water and age
ОтветитьIs there a way for you to help with the “nut” when it does t budge. I have been using penetrating oil on it almost daily. Can’t get it to turn.
ОтветитьI have an issue where the water is not completely shutting off when the handle is turned to the off position. Can the hot water adjustment affect that?
ОтветитьThank you for the video. Hope for most DIYers this trick would work but I was not that lucky - got to call Delta to have them ship the whole thing.
ОтветитьI'm sorry but showing how easy it is to replace a never used cartridge on a display model doesn't represent all of the frustration that comes with this simple task. All of the hard water buildup makes it very difficult to remove. Not to mention years of use weakened the plastic to where it breaks apart while still in the housing. Hours of frustration and to look for help and find videos like this is disappointing.
ОтветитьThanks very much 🙏... it helped me a great deal. I was able to change the Cartridge myself and save a whole bunch of money.
ОтветитьSometimes impossible to remove screw holding handle, you have to drill through handle
Delta sends new handle with replacement cartridge.
Mine still leaked after this process 😔
ОтветитьThank you. You helped this 69 year old lady to do this all by herself. I used a rubber strap wrench for the nut which made it easy.
ОтветитьDo you have a part number for the cartridge?
ОтветитьOlder faucets, as he warned, are a lot less easy to unscrew. Especially if the original installer was a hack and did not secure the valve to a stud and just let it hang in the wall with the pipes attached. Then things go south fast if the water was not shut off :)
ОтветитьWill this help with a leaky shower head?? 🚿
ОтветитьJust so you know…..Delta doesn’t send you the entire cartridge, they send you a set of springs & seats, (washers).
But, thanks for the informative video. Wish me luck!!
I'm always have change the springs why so many times
ОтветитьThank you for this!
ОтветитьI have a brand new delta, the tub spout has a steady drip. Is it defective?
ОтветитьI have a delta Peerless RP44123 Ball type of faucet. Can I update to a cartridge model?
ОтветитьHAHAHAAHAHAHA, This won't work on an older faucet. These guys are always doing these jobs on new parts leaving out the reality of what it's really like
ОтветитьOMG D.C . Benny .
Mark Bravo
could not get a cartridge out of teh faucet
ОтветитьThank you for making this video! I really appreciate the added info about the temperature setting gauge ( I didn't even know that existed until i watched your video)! 😌
ОтветитьTy for the information.
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьDo you need to turn off your water supply before doing this?
ОтветитьThanks a ton. i was inserting the front part of the cartrige in first before snapping it to the other half and water would work for a day and then not turn off. for the last 5 days, daily. lol. your video showed me how i installed it wrong.
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьMust of been brand new, cause no struggle
ОтветитьI couldn't understand the type of cartridge that was. Can you type it in?
ОтветитьHi, great video. That looks like my delta shower handle. Im having trouble getting set screw and handle off. Can you tell me the delta model that is incase i break the handle i can find a replacement.
Ответитьthank you...
ОтветитьThanks for showing how to set the temperature. I might need to know this 10 years later ☺️
ОтветитьPerfect ! Thanks! Took 3 minutes!
ОтветитьThanks for the video! What is the model of the Delta faucet in your video? Mine looks exactly the same and it has a slow dripping. I am trying to fix it.
ОтветитьChanged washers & springs..Still slow drip...Replace cartridge next? Been in the house 26 yrs.
ОтветитьThank you for your info & help! It saved m a lot of money & being on a fixed income, it was a blessing. All I suggest is for women or older ppl to use "Blaster PB" & to shut the water off before you start. It was great that you showed how to replace the spring in the cartridge. I had some Delta parts & it did the trick! I'm so happy not to see my faucet dripping! I'm sure it took me longer than most but I'm happy I did it myself! Thank you so very much!
