I love being emo, and people shouldn’t judge someone based on how they dress and what music they like.

EMO IS A MUSIC BASED SUBCULTURE ‼️‼️ bands such as taking back sunday, saosin, chiodos, jimmy eat world, the used, Hawthorne heights, secondhand Serenade, from first to last, mayday parade, the academy is…, etc. are Emo!! So you technically can’t be Emo unless you listen to the music. Bands such as paramore, and mother mother aren’t Emo. Mother mother is like alt rock I think, and paramore is rock. No hate tho!!

As someone who is part of the goth community, a lot of times, people associate goth with being EMO and it gets on my nerves because EMO is basically 2000s alt and goth is more dark and spikes and things like that and I appreciate a lot of people who listen and try their best to make sure they get it right especially since ever since goth and emo have become styles they has been switched around many times mostly because they are both alt styles

I’m also emo and a cannible so I do get made fun of sometimes but I still have friends, emo is just a feeling

During my 2nd semester of my freshman year in high school that I became friends with this one girl that she had a bad side cut for her hair. She was a little punk-ish at that time. We had a couple classes together. I was a little bit preppy than her. I did judge her for being sweet and friendly with. She was strange towards me in the way she dressed.

I am 24 years old and known as the "Hot Topic Emo Kid" at my university but I'm a happy outgoing person who listens to Elton John and BTS and likes superheroes, Disney, and Barbie dolls. Just because someone likes a certain aesthetic or style doesn't mean you should make assumptions. Not all emos and goths are witches, not all girls who wear designer clothes are spoiled and "ratchet," not all furries are cringe and act like animals in public (I'm also a furry and I act like a regular old human lol), not all people who like anime are "weeaboos," not all nerds and metalheads are heartless jerks, etc.
