I'm not sure the 2 drives need to be exactly the same model and size. You should be able to use 2 drives from different manufacturers and even different sizes as long as the backup drive holds at least as much storage as the source drive.
ОтветитьWhat actually is this garbage? This is not RAID 1. THIS IS SOFTWARE EMULATION. "Basically RAID" is not RAID.
First of all stop lying to people. You have no clue what you're talking about and are simply farming views.
For everyone reading, look into your motherboard model and read the manual. It will tell you how to ACTUALLY enable RAID for a more robust and reliable setup.
Shame on this incompetency.
So if you have three 2TB disks on raid 1, you will only have 2TB of space to store stuff before everything is duplicated? Even tho you have 6 TB total in capacity? I want to use it for NAS
ОтветитьGreat vid.
I have a question - I have a dual bay NAS drive. I plan to set it up as a raid 1, but only have one drive at the moment. Could I upload all my data to the one drive then add the second drive and set up a raid 1 at a later date without loosing all my data?
Love from India ♥️
