At was upset this wasn’t the og ending, but now that I think of it, I’m actually glad… imagine being a mother and losing your husband and your son who just conquer his dream 🙁 (at least Robert gets a new job)

Lots of people prefer that version where he learns to accept his death

I wish this movie should make me cry but i wanted to check out Ratatouille i didn’t watch Soul but i did also Disney+ wanted to free up everything.

I just love the idea that it’s a soul for a soul situation, pun intended. 22 finally accepts that living on earth isn’t bad and can move forward, and Joe makes the hard decision to let 22 go, then proceeds to accept his fate into the great beyond. I like to think that Joe cared so much about 22 because she reminded him of his students: someone who had a life ahead of them and could do great. What hurts most is that they’ll forget about each other, but that’s the hard part of death, acceptance.

I was in the lowest lows of my life when I watched this in 2020 and the ending lifted my spirits up about how to appreciate things. I don't know how would I handle if this is the ending lol.

Theorie: maybe 22 is his soulmate and they will find again in the future as a friend or girlfriend.

Well at least this video was a way to end 2020

This movie was so awesome and deep

We need soul 2 pixer joe must find who 22

22 then proceeds to be born as an Uighur in China. Such is life.

This is actually more satisfying, for we know death gives the meaning to Life.

The reason it so sad to me is because joe will remember it all but 22 will forget it all and a friendship will be forgotten. If the meet again they wouldn’t even know because 22 wouldn’t remember.

It makes more sense for Joe to live. He had only just begun to enjoy life, and he returned to help 22 get to Earth. For him to die permanently would mean he wasn't rewarded for learning a lesson.

Fun fact: this was actually the original ending.

this scene can also be a metaphor to a father and a daughter, he will go with her on life even though he cannot make it until her end, he will die sooner than her.

I was so bummed when they gave Joe a second chance. I kinda loved the idea of him slipping away, like understanding what life was for him and accepted that it's his end. I did however love Jerry b tricking Terry it was my favorit funny scene of the whole movie idk why I just loved it.

Seems like the hippo finally made a friend.

Then 22 ends up as a child labourer in Tibet working for 5 cents an hour

This had the same format as Bing Bong's final scene in Inside Out, which made me bawl my eyes out. However this scene made me bawl every last drop of tears I had!
