The Au8000 had backlight bleed thst was awful, id stay away from that model. A seeming upgrade from the Tu8000 but lower contrast, backlight bleed, and you cant update the firmware with USB if your life depended on it. Its a downgrade honestly.

QLED stinks. Home Alone 2 on Blu-ray looks way better on the AU8000 55inch TV compared to the Q60B 50inch TV. On the Q60B TV in standard mode I have to turn the sharpness all the way down to make the movie look better.

I don't like the way the Q60a TV crushes blacks , it loses detail. Can this be changed in settings so more like Au8000?

I've got a soundbar in on the eArc. The secondary hdmi has a decoder plugged in. I only have the hdmi open at the back of the unit for a Xbox X. Does it matter in which hdmi I use to run the X box X?

Some websites say they have 60hz refresh rates, others say 50 which is confusing. Which is it?🤣 (edit- btw i'm comparing the q60b and bu8000, but they're upgrades to these so i'm assuming they would be the same/better)

Okay only thing I seem on the QLED that I was concerned about was the refresh rate during boxing scene. The colors look amazing but I'm a gamer. The qseries has the quantum processor correct? So why was it having a hard time refreshing?

LG UP81006LR Vs Samsung Q60A would be a good comparison.

I just returned the LG and got the Samsung instead, but I don't think I made the right decision. The Samsung's built in tuner is poor compared to LG's. The recording/pause TV function has to be started manually each time you change the channel, making it unusable. When you start the time shift function (pause TV) using the one remote, you literally have to pause the program and then start it again to enable it. Imagine doing that every time you change the channel! LG's starts automatically. Also, the TV guide cannot be accessed when using the recording/pause TV function. The recording stops. Not a problem for the LG. And the non-Freesat channels are populated in the guide on the LG, but not on the Samsung. The LG has a Now and Next guide but the Samsung only has a Now guide, so if it's 5 to the hour, that's not much use. You'll have to wait until the next program starts before you can see what's on. Disappointing.

The LG remote control is better. It has a Wee-like cursor that you can move around the screen. This is great for rewinding recorded content, as you simply point the cursor anywhere on the timeline and click, making it a much faster process. The Samsung came with 2 remote controls, though you can get away with just using the smaller remote.

The Samsung might pip ahead on image quality, but not by much. Saying that, I think it doesn't handle motion as well as the LG. I'm seeing judder on panning shots. I can't remember seeing that on the LG.


The reason I returned the LG was because it had fairly bad light bleed, but it was classed as refurbished, meaning it could've been a customer return. The two TVs are similarly priced here in the UK at the moment. I am seriously considering returning the Samsung and getting a brand new LG instead.

Hey man really need your help real quick - ur probably the only one who can answer this straight up.
I got a choice between Samsung Q60A VS Samsung AU9007 - which is a newer one with game mode and hdmi2.1 120hx at fhd 6hx at 4k and i think brighter screen than the Au8000 series. With all this in mind - which do you recommend???

We brought the AU9000 for the lounge last week, it's clearly a very capable TV, but we didn't mind sacrificing the extras, as it's generally used for the kids playing Xbox Series S or 360 or for light entertainment. The home office/game room has a QN95 on the wall along with PS5 and Xbox Series X which we really wanted the extra function such as VRR and 120HZ. Overall, there's no regrets from us, just depends on your budget and what you are willing to pay. Good video Steve, thank you!
