So when make white rice I let it boil on high till the water is gone then put it to low, Insee you put it on low right away why ?

ОтветитьWhen I was a kid I wouldn't eat anything. My next door neighbor who was Cuban, used to make this a few times a week. It was one of the only things I would eat. I used to knock on his door every time he made it because I could smell it. It got to the point that when he made it he would leave the door open with a note for me to come on in. I absolutely loved this stuff! My neighbor never had an issue with me showing up. He loved that I liked his cooking. He even started to make other Cuban dishes for me. Gosh I miss him. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known.
ОтветитьOne of my coworkers was Cuban, and he made us a congri with just rice and a can of seasoned black beans. You just cook the beans and rice together with the liquid in the can, maybe only add a little bit more water. Delicious and so easy.

ОтветитьI usually use chicken broth for many recipes instead of water for even more flavor depth. Do you ever use chicken broth instead of water, or would that change the flavor too much?

ОтветитьHappy Wednesday Rosie. LOL. I have that same sauce pan but mine is speckle blue! I have never tried black beans! I don't know why! I've only eaten pinto beans and black eye peas. Your rice looks delicious. I saw a concert by Zucchero and he was performing in Cuba and I noticed how old the cars are there! Classic 57 Chevy's!!
