''oh yeh its so tough this last 3-4 years, we've seen our margins fall''.....-he says while wearing a designer suit-
ОтветитьIF U CANT AFFORD RENTING PRIVATE THEN GO THE COUNCIL ROUTE ITS THTS SIMPLE I WOULDNT RENT A FERRARI AND DEMAND THEM TO LOWER THE RENT IF I COULDNT AFFORD IT !!
ОтветитьPrivate renting is a luxury not a right !! If u want looking after ask the government for either a council house or a hostel 😂 it makes me so mad tht u people think ur entitled to free or cheap rent homes get a grip
ОтветитьGreed is its own reward.
Ответитьthe landlord with white nike tshirt said it all! I feel exactly the same and i am saying the same things , even i am a greek landlord with property in greece
ОтветитьWhen I was young I got a contracting job hundreds of miles from home. It was temporary so there was no point in buying - so I rented. If I hadn’t been able to rent - I couldn’t have taken that job. It paid well and led to better jobs. So I decided to buy property and become a landlord so I could enable people to do the same as me…. Not everyone wants to/ can own their own home.
ОтветитьJust one element in a larger problem - increase minimum wages, stop selling social housing and replace what has been sold over the years and the supply/demand balance and % of income spent on rent will change accordingly.
ОтветитьThanks landlords for your role in the housing crisis, for reducing the housing stock and raisng prices. Landlords deprive others of the opportunity to own their own houses, dosen't get much lower.
ОтветитьDamn
ОтветитьA flexible work force: just means you can sack them easily.
ОтветитьThe guy in the football shirt said "The less government involvement the better". Because he's explicitly a capitalist, he means let the "free" market rule. I would have asked him "How about cooperative housing associations? Then the people can decide how people can get onto the home ownership "ladder".
Basic physics, the more landlords own property, the less home ownership. Another landlord talked about "worker" fluidity; being able to move to where the Jobs are. Well, cooperative housing associations could make that work.
Capitalism is the problem. Marxist values are the solution. But, the system is rigged (the rich & their biased values)
Ask the landlords if they can imagine an economy & housing with no residential rents. For example, a "rent" to own system. Within the current economic system, the deposit required to start a mortgage means many people get stuck in the rent trap housing system (because they can't save for the deposit due to paying the majority of their income to the landlord).
ОтветитьThey have no choice, the tenants. When you have no choice, are you free ?
ОтветитьBias
ОтветитьIf you are not happy with rent, get a mortgage like the landlord, 😂
ОтветитьI'm not being funny but most landlords in london are raising rents by 20-30%. Interest rates have gone up by 5.25%... You are literally taking advantage and acting like you are about to go bankrupt. I have no sympathy for any of these people.
They are acting like renting out isn't a plus for them in the first place. To rent out your home you need to ensure you are getting 125% of your mortgage payments so you are already scalping people as it is. These are disgusting people.
What have we learned folks…
ОтветитьYou cannot be an ethical landlord.
It doesn't matter how good or how bad the landlord is, the fundamental indivisible unit of the landlord/tenant relationship is non-consensual.
The fundamental indivisible unit of the landlord/tenant class relationship is "fuck you, give us half your wages or we'll make you homeless".
We heard these same arguments over slavery 200 years ago - around the same time as English landlords caused the deaths of around a million Irish people.
Think that can't happen again? Tory austerity killed about 125,000 people. Of course it can. These parasites just make up bullshit little stories to excuse what they're doing. Being a landlord really should be a life-threatening condition.
NOVARA MEDIA if you really do want to know the full picture on this issue. Get your middle-class presenters to come up to the grim north and meet up with some working class landlords. Then let's see whose side you're on. But as most of us are not university educated and don't read the Guardian you probably won't take me up on it.
ОтветитьAs a landlord i have a suggestion. Create rental laws that depend on the locations of the properties. The UK rental market varies greatly depending on where you live.
ОтветитьWhen watching this you need to be aware there is a massive divide between the North & the South of England rents. With another divide being the towns and cities. For example rents for 1 bed flats in Blackpool are around £90 per week and have not changed for 15 years!!!
Now you know the truth. Are landlords the money grabbers that many are portrayed as in this South England based video? And ask yourself have your wages stayed the same in 15 years?
we dont increase the rent but the rent goes up 5% each year ye HAHA make it make sense
ОтветитьI feel sick
ОтветитьI don't feel sorry for landlords that took out mortgages to buy property to rent to others. Parasitic.
Ответитьreminder to tip
ОтветитьEven though there are a lot of greedy landlords out there they are the symptom of a broken system not the cause.
Our country has palmed off housing onto the private sector then complained about greed. We need to take that responsibility back to national and local government.
Could novara media do a fair job and look at the other end of the scale ,scumbag tenants!tenants that don't pay ,tenants that cause criminal damage to the tune of tens of thousands of pounds to property ,tenants that don't pay for any bills water ,gas electric ,and not forgetting the free council tax and then leave to go and do it again at another address, all above add to the everyday costs of everybody that pays there bills !!!some of these tenants live like dogs ,never clean ,leave dog poop on carpet, smash the property !!!
ОтветитьIt's criminal that in a country that is facing both a housing AND a cost-of-living crisis multiple house ownership is allowed, at least to that extent. With minimal provision for social housing. Yes I know it's capitalism... Shooting itself in the foot.
ОтветитьIt is a business, not charity!!!
ОтветитьThe guy that has 25 properties is out of control. Saying that he's doing it rough, just trying his best to desperately make his 25 properties work as such, he can't afford to take on the cost of living increases. Saying that the government is causing problems for him and that they should just stay out of it so that he can maximise his profit and get his 26th property. This is why the government needs to regulate the housing market so that people like him don't become literal lords whilst the peasants become rent slaves to him for life.
ОтветитьThis footage looks more like a documentary rather than a political video. Something like "Leeches on Planet Earth"👌
Any other suggestions for the title?
they're literally inhuman
Ответитьwell my ex landlord put our rent up from 7 to 850 a month ,he never done anything for 11 years then when we left the agent put it to 850 than a week later the landlord put it upto 950 ,alls it says to me is greed ,simple ,you wont get me feeling sorry for these scumbags ,got a problem with that sell up and give a young family a chance ,like i said before you greedy scumbags !!
ОтветитьJust to rub salt in the wounds, last year we spent £23b on housing benefits - this is a benefit given to poorer folks so they can afford private rental prices. Or in other words, £23b has gone into the hands of private landlords courtesy of our government.
If the government had any conscience, they would build a ton of new social houses. We should be aiming to remove private renting.
WTF why are all these Landlords "retiring" in their 50s? Govts need to act on that mentality. Renters or Taxpayers ARE NOT carrying their carcasses to Dementia. The greed of it. In the 1730s the satin britches might have got away with it, but these balding check shirts deserve to have Banks raise mortgages to 20% and force them out of housing and into the sharemarket. Let the bots have em.....
ОтветитьWhat's really being described here is the desperation & the sheer terror that landlords are having, that they may one day have to go out & find a job!
ОтветитьDoes jealousy/envy play into this at all?
ОтветитьHas anybody considered inflation??
ОтветитьLandlords should subsidise tenants
ОтветитьThe renters really showed themselves up here haha
ОтветитьThe poor dears!
ОтветитьI haven’t put any of my rents up, my tenants are in the same cash problems that we have, I work with them , some are good friends, if you look after them they will stay and that’s what I want, I don’t use agents I go and see my tenants, face to face , and I am quite strict on references, if you haven’t got them then your not getting in, and I have never evicted a tenant, I’m not in London which I think is a diff ball game to me, I do this as a job now and I enjoy it ,I work hard and I’m still make a profit, so it’s a win win ,
ОтветитьMaybe if so many of you weren't hoarding houses then ordinary Brits might be able to buy a home to settle in, rather than having to pay rents for a frequently sub-standard housing 'service' to (all too often) lazy landlords.
ОтветитьLandlords are going to respond to market signals and incentives.
A more intelligent question, is why is the ratio of wages to housing costs now so untenable and crazy? What are the structural reasons for this?
How is it that your renter pays the mortgage, IF YOU DON'T OWN THE PROPERTY YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO GET THE POOR TO PAY YOUR MORTGAGE.
Ответитьhmm are Landlords just a flow through for the banks at this point? LOLL
you think you are paying "rent" ... when in reality you are paying "mortgage interest" - aka paying the banks
I notice how the interviewer doesn’t mention the enormous risk landlords take to provide the property in the first place.
