i like to take a normal room design for my drecko farms similar to your shearing room (by creating a hood for the 2 top tiles and placing an electrolyzer in there to create the hydrogen)

There is a mod that makes info cards actually usable in tiles where there are more than 10 items, called better info cards on steam workshop

You should build just 1 auto sweeper set up at the bottom of the area to clear. Then use ladder scaffolds to drop upper levels down to the sweeper level. I use this just above the oil biome to sweep the entire map to my central transit network then 4 conveyer loaders to move it up to unlimited storage. I also setup a few sweepers at my unlimited storage with rails going to space, industrial brick kitchen or other projects.

For dirt, I recomend ranching pips, each one will give 20kg dirt per cicle, and I think 6 wild trees will be enough to feed an 8 critter ranch. They only eat the 2 bottom branches, so you can harvest the rest.
8 Pips * 20kg dirt / 10kg dirt needed per mealwood plant = 16 plants well feeded!

You can add timer sensor to incubators, which only activates them for short amount of time every 1 cycle for your dupes to care for eggs. Eggs that has been sing to have the boost even if your incubators are not powered.

Really it would be lava power. Since you are not really extracting power from the volcano proper, but rather from the lava product ;)

Interesting you have chosen geothermal, I have a shed load if magma from 2 volcanoes I have been saving in a vacuum for about 800 cycles. Just started building a power setup this morning to exploit it!

Do the pips, just a few ranchs and you get more then enough dirt. I think I saw in earlier videos you getting an arbor acorn.

For a challenge what are your thoughts of making everything outside of your base a vacuum?

As great as cored badlands are for pip planting, you have to make sure none of the natural tiles are obsidian. Pips can’t plant in obsidian :(.

The sweepy doesn't count as industrial equipment so it's really useful for keeping for fresh

I tried drecos on my newest base and in my case it postponed the need for a proper industry brick for quite a while since I got most of my plastic needs covered and lead + rock grinder where enough to supplement my refined metal needs enough for me to get to space and start harvesting the steel from meteors. While note exactly a replacement, it did help me with designing a new industry section that wouldn't need corrections since I had already access to every non space material (although having visco gel would help there since I love the 1 tile wide liquid locks).

One advantage I have found with sweepy is it's ability to mop up liquids. So in places where liquids build up accidently (chlorine in ice biomes) they're useful to keep it off the ground, though I havent figured out a way to empty liquids out other than destroying the sweepy dock.

I put my Dreko Farm on the very Top of my base. So overflooting hydrogen is not an important problem for a very long time. And i love that Map so much of his easy access to barbecue and iron.

"Drecko's" isn't plural.

You should tie your hydrogen burnoff to your last overflow tank to get filled, not the first. Your first tank to get full, won't hit 90% until all of the tanks that fill before it are fully empty

oh also AETNs don't reduce any dtu's of the g as around it, it just cools itself down and it's up to the gas around it to be conductive. also it has a temperature limit as well

You can use gas canister emptiers to bypass the gas pressure problem. It dumps 10 kilos of gas into the surrounding area regardless of the pressure

Challenge: play "isolation" map. where dupes cant be in contact with one another.

Suggestion about the Drecko farm. Feed the Glossies on Bristle Blossom. The game lies when it says they ONLY feed on mealwood. BB's bring their egg laying chances to 65% glossy and 35% normal Drecko eggs, giving you both plastic and reed fibre. If you only feed a few and send the eggs to a starvation/shearing room, you don't need many BB's and therefore not much water to keep the thing running.

Francis, why not make a compression room for your excess hydrogen? I’ve recently switched to doing this and the amount of gas you can compress into a small room is insane.

Dreckos suuuuuuuck.

I've been discussing glossy dreckos recently, and I realized they eat more mealwood than standard ones. So it might be the case that if you plan to replace them with glossy ones (as you did later) you should add 2 more mealwoods. You probably don't notice because since you're using the starving method, you get constant critter starving notifications.

What is the max speed you using with speed control?

What's the point of putting all of those sweeping systems on several floors if you could just replace natural blocks with plates and all of the stuff would fall on a single bottom floor? It's just overcomplicated and excessive!
