Can I Beat Skyrim Melee only Without Being Detected?

Hey folks, it's SKYRIM, everyone's favourite of Todd's magical creations.
You should follow my Twitch channel (link in desc.) because I'm going to be playing completely randomied New Vegas there this coming week, doors and everything, it's going to be horribly painful.

So anyway to answer the question that the title asks... Well... Sort of.

I'm not really enough of an expert at Skyrim to know for sure but it feels like there are just certain moments where you really can't avoid being technically 'detected' for a moment, even if you're sneaking and invisible, when certain NPC's activate it seems like they're programmed to start their existence with an innate knowledge of your location, also dragon hitboxes suck and know there's mods to tighten them up a bit but I wanted to keep this playthrough vanilla for the homies.

When you started on Dawnguard I expected you were going to join the vampires for the bonuses to sneak snd illusion

I did this before! I had a halfling character (for height) and named them "orphan child"
Where they killed everyone with a knife, one shot, sneak only

Fun fact: if you go to the entrance of Solitude and cast Magelight at one of the rocky parts across from the entrance, you'll get a shitload of exp for illusion.

You couldve stealthed the first guys by maximizing stealth off of Hadvar

There is a faster way to level sneak in the bear cave! If you push Hadvar into a corner far enough away from the bear and turn the difficulty to legendary, you can continually get sneak attacks on him and he never turns against you. You can max sneak in like 5 minutes!

Meh, my Alchemist build could do that. Give me some time and I won’t even need to level up my sneak and melee skill trees.

You can sneak past the stormcloaks in the intro by using a bowl to clip through the wall.

Loved this run. I think it would be interesting to see you do something in Morrowind but learning that game if you don't know it might be a challenge in of itself.

you can set the difficulty to legendary in the bear cave at the start of the game and hit ralof or hadvar over and over in a corner to level your sneak super fast

Your thumbnail embodies the word "Stinky" and I was fully ready to believe my dyslexic ass before seeing Skyrim in the title and wondering why anyone would want a smell mod

Imagine not just sneak attacking ralof until you're at 100 sneak

This is every other fucking run I did ex bosses including the "starting with stealth 100 grind" from the beat cave at least 20+ full runs *note you can also get this in like an hour by hitting hagvar with continus sneak attacks instead of just sneaking also more entertaining to do

Pickpocket leveling is faster if you pay a pickpocket trainer to level it and then steal the gold back, levels from stealing and from the trainer

You could have increased your damage output further by dual-wielding daggers and attacking with both of them at the same time.
But then you have to put up with the pain of dual-wielding in Skyrim, and honestly that's sometimes worse.

nice, good video dude. i do enjoy some stealth in skyrim. a small tip for others incase they still dont know after all these years, if you hold down the cast spell button with invisible and open a door and release it the spell, you can enter new zones and be invisible instantly instead of having to recast the spell after you enter a dungeon or such just make sure to hold the spell until after you pressed the button to open the door. also on older versions of skyrim if you hold down the sprint key whilst sneaking and draw your weapon whilst moving forward you can get the sneak roll to activate without having the skill unlocked to do so. skyrim was and still is a very broken game and thats before you start doing the enchant and smithing exploit

watched this while glassblowing to 80 crafting. I feel so targeted

i think i've seen someone let Hadvar do ALL the fighting at the beginning...
i tried to do something like this myself once, but i didn't know about those boots, that Muffle Enchantment is pretty much essential if you're trying to do a Dagger Sneak attack...
PS: if i remember, the Nightingale set, that you can get from the Thieves Guild questline, has similar stealth enchantments!

surprised you didn’t join the vampires, they get a 25% bonus to sneak and the duration of illusion spells as well as a power that lets them go invisible for 120 seconds

Great vid! Next time try sneak attacking with the dagger on Hadvar before you leave the cave. You can level up sneak to 100 in some 15-20 minutes while also getting your one handed skill up to around level 30. It’ll save you some time in future stealth runs. 😁
