I remember when I found out on my own that you can change the layers icons to show only what is in that specific layer, this made my life so much easier since I make big canvas and keep every little detail in its own layer, the occasions where I loose a layer are much more rare now, before it was almost all the time

It's interesting that you referenced ferngully. First, that was my favorite movie as a kid, but when I rewatched it recently, I specifically noticed the awful fully saturated bright reds and blues of some of the bad guy characters. That lizard, for instance, is so unreal looking and clashy, that it's hard to watch. Yet, the backgrounds and main characters look amazing. It's almost like they pawned off the secondary stuff to the studio head's nephew.
