TESTING FREE ANIMATION PROGRAMS [2D Animation]

Hey guys! I've been getting into animation recently and I thought I'd check out some of the free programs since animation programs can be so pricey. @ - @ I'm mad annoyed that Adobe raised the price on their app subscription. Oh also I recorded the voiceover for this one before the Friday video which is why it sounds like I'm suddenly sick again. :>

This video has made me validated for hating blender 😂
The paint bucket tool probably has a setting where the fill has an outline and the actual fill color, and it was only filling in the outline of the shape created by the inking boundary.

Pencil2d DID have layers, you just didn't notice the add layer button in the bottom left.

someone please help, the creators of pencil 2D I beleave abandoned it a while back and my sound file is glitched into being only one frame and only pays it when I download it into a movie. :(

i use blender to Animate....
3D animate but still, cool you tried it out.

A free program I recommend is fire alpaca there is a animation part with it but it's not ideal you animate by layers so you only really have one layer but it's good for storyboarding an animation which I do

My teacher is making us use synfig... its so DIFFICULT!! And he didn't even teach us the functions. He expects us to animate our own stories XDD

I personally use pencil2d because I hated having watermarks on my animations from flipaclip and it's free too. (AND IT IS SIMPLE AND PERFECT FOR MY STYLE OF ANIMATION)

Pencil 2d to me is the best since I focus on gifs. And short videos.

have you tried krita yet? it's very good for drawing and the animation feature has been improving a lot recently. (I'm pretty sure it's free since I got it for free on my linux but when I tried to install it under windows it was payed so idk)

did a quick search on your channel but didn't see if you've done a recent update of this. If you do an update looking at these or other programs like you did here could you include Enve 2d animation in the video?

I'm not sure if any of these are available on a phone, if they are could someone tell me?

Yes I see a comment about FlipaClip, but it’s way to easy to work with, not will all people but, she does more harder stuff, and FlipaClip is not the best? But it’s still a good starter app

how the hell do you make the pencil or pen binary / no anti-aliasing in pencil 2d?

about the blender filling thing. yea i have also struggle with that a lot also. but to get the bucket tool working you simply have to change the Material from Solid Stroke to Solid Fill. incase you don't know what is material. Click the Red Ball on the right side of the panel. you should be able to find it there. there are presets to select from.
incase its not working at all after changing the Material (sometimes blender is weird). TLDR: Go to edit Mode while having your "Stroke" selected, press "A" until it turns Orange (To select all), press F3 (for Search) and search up "Merge by Distance" this should "Clean" up some Lines. (after that try to Fill it using the Bucket tool)

and about the Pressure sensitivity thing yea that thing annoy me also xD. TLDR: Turn off Pressure Sensitivity on Strength and keep it at 1. it should be default imo.

a Neat tip and trick: you can change the Thickness of the Stroke after you finish drawing. Click the Little Green Line thingy on the right side of the screen.
scroll all the way down until you Read "Stroke" click that and change the numbers you get something neat.

Sinfig will never be ready to use. I used to use it because it is one of the only free vector animation softwares which actually run on my pc but it is total trash like complete garbage

as someone who uses blender for 3D animation its good but i have tried 2D in blender and its a nightmare i feel you there!!!

yeah so i sugest that u try again to view krita since it has multiply & most of things that photoshop has + it's a considerably user friendly app
(it's only for pc/laptop users tho-) + krita if u click the close tab krita will automatically ask u if u wanna save ur work so u dont have to deal with the same problem as the first animation program u reviewed

POV: You only have an ipad or (god forbid) a phone, so you’re stuck with flippaclip or whatever hastily put together animation software your drawing app includes as a one off feature to get more people to download it. ;-; (btw, I have a lot of respect for people that can make good animations on a phone, because I used to do that and holy heck it was difficult)

The app I made my VERY first animation on is FlipaClip. I still use that and it’s been a year since I made that first animation. And looking back on it, it was pretty bad and cringe compared to my later work. But if you want, you can watch it, but it’s FNAF. Ghosting is the name of the video.

There is an automated feature in Blender. And after crash or accidental closure, there's a recovery button in the file menu.

I usually draw the frames on a regular app then put the individual frames into a video editing app, adjusting the speed too.

i lost my sanity both times when i used pencil2d to make animatics. one was for a school project, i seriously regretted, but i was responsible for this one. the second time was when an animatic i was making for fun corrupted twice. i had to make it three times in order for it to work. exporting doesnt work for me and i have to use obs to "export" and crop everything out in davinci
