Are Built-In Speakers in Controllers the future?

Never had much of an issue with scratching on the pro go (basically this same thing)

Are the speakers loud let’s say in a house or do they sound as bad as they look tia

I am starting from ground zero. I have no dj experience. I did some parties as a younger man but never took it serious. I am looking for something for my own enjoyment. I love music and i would like to play around with it. I don't plan on doing this for a living. Given these factors, I think this unit might be a great first system for me. I do have a laptop and I will probably use it but I do like the idea of having everything in one unit even the internal speakers. I think your review is great but the gripes are geared towards professional usage. As a beginner, this is a fit for me which you made that clear in this review. Thanks.

I just ordered this as i retired from djing about 20 years ago, so im hoping this will get me back into the swing of things

he speakers is great for just making mix tapes, no need to turn on studio monitors

I haven't dj with them and can you get sound effects and samples for the system

Numark is crap...poor built quality, crappy jog wheel. I got a Pioneer and improvement is night and day...never Numark again.

This is a very good controller for the price. The thing i like it about it is you can use as a standalone or with Serato. Plus its relatively inexpensive.

The Numark mix stream pro is a very good and effective travel, DJ controller, that is easy and lightweight, but also having enough function to get the party started easily without heavy equipment.

I recently picked this up as a second controller to my Rane One......I will not lie, I love it. It being light, and no laptop made the last gig I did a breeze. The on deck speakers acted as a booth monitor to me, as I connected the XRL cable to main. It also updated to Engine OS 3.0, so they added a few new features. I feel individuals will sleep on this, but man it's gold.

I mean a screen without sound is kinda lame so I think the speakers make it well rounded overall

You are absolutely right carlito numark should have never added speakers to a Dj controller that’s why it doesn’t have 16 pads and a longer tempo fader! & they should have added Bluetooth capability to complete the standalone process! What you think Carlo & fans Bluetooth yeah or nah???

Kind of the same setup as it's distant cousin, Akai Pro' MPC Live II, isn't it?. It has on-board speakers as well that the user can take or leave.

Is there a way to record both the mic and music playing at the same time? So the recording has what ever you say over the top of the music?

Built in speaker? No please! DMX control? YES Great! Built in player? YES great! Platters? Needs more quality! Mixer section? OK good enough!
Anyone who buys these can surely afford decent bluetooth speakers, so just give it bluetooth connectivity aside from its line/xlr outputs. The built in speakers belong to the partymix line. We'd rather have 2 more channels for more control, yup 4 channels should be the minimum standard nowadays for multiple cueing etc...

Can the speakers be muted while playing music thru the XLR outputs?

For an on the go Dj who travels I think it’s perfect and compact although my main baby is the ddj 1000srt I don’t want to travel on the plane to another country with it all the time , It can use some more features but for now wifi Bluetooth and 7 inch touch screen for under $600 is absolutely great !

I hope Pioneer comes out with one soon for $599 as well, does anyone know if Pioneer has one in the works?

They could have chopped those speaker to make room for a longer pitch faders

I like the idea of speakers on the mixer for practicing. However, maybe better placement would be welcome.

I honestly almost completely wrote off this unit in my preliminary research because of the built-in speakers, I thought it was a cheap and useless gimmick (like the touch strips on Novation Twitch), but the more I looked into other sub-$1000 controllers, the more sense this one made overall

Very nice. It's a game changer for me. The price is right for a second controller, I own the DDJ 1000, but want to possibly get into a stand alone kit, it maybe be my future if manufacturer's can get it right. This is close, from a price point, size, and feature set for me. Dope stuff gd sir.

Are those actually microphone jacks?
Or are they for connecting external speakers?

The wet/dry has been updated with this unit with new Engine Os update.

I think the speakers are a neat feature especially for practice inside without too much noise. Plus the update with Os 2.0 engine it fixes the issues.

My deck and I love it. Punches higher above its belt. Can be used in pro sets as well.
