What evidence do you have to substantiate your claims?
How did you get such detailed records of events 500 years old?
Are you only using letters written by his political rival?
Columbus didn't wipe them out and put them in reservations.
You can't put the crimes of others on him.
Where are you getting this detailed information from 500 years ago?
The African-American judge always makes me LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьWell it seems America didn't change much from the past

ОтветитьI do not believe in celebrating Columbus Day, because he was not a good person at all, and there’s an organization called “the Knights of Columbus” this organization shouldn’t even exist in the first place
Ответить"Because we've always done it that way" is the worst reason to continue doing something.
ОтветитьColumbus is certainly a fascinating figure and there are mixed feelings about him.
For Columbus’s own faults, some of the inhabitants on land such as the Aztecs were cannibals (the Caribs also) and even raises their kids to eat human flesh and rip out the hearts of innocent people.
Also, it is said that the account of Columbus’s atrocities were exposed by an arch rival of his.
I mean, Columbus was a horrible navigator, but there are good and bad things about his legacy. They didn’t do a good job defending him here
The only primary source on the subject only comes from Christopher Columbus’s chief political rival who actually did do those things
ОтветитьA lot of these is false! Not all Indian triibs were sweet and nice. A lot of them like to eat. People.
ОтветитьColumbus did nothing wrong
ОтветитьColumbus brought Christianity to the New world. That’s why he’s being attacked. He’s almost a Catholic saint.
ОтветитьColumbus was great! Indigenous people can get drunk on fire water in their trailers and shut up.
ОтветитьPor favor visiten el museo de la casa de indias en Sevilla donde pueden leer todos los diarios, y verificar por si mismo el nivel de disparates que difunde este video. Gracias
ОтветитьEs increible el nivel de desconocimiento y manipulación, asi que fue el mismo Cristobal quien puso en reservas a los indios nativos de USA? madre mia...
Ответитьyes
Ответитьdid he say you people
Ответитьhi, thanks. you helped with my homework.
ОтветитьHow can they keep a straight face when they blame Columbus for things that happened hundreds of years and thousands of miles away from when and where he made first contact? I'm a teacher, and I usually really like TedEd, but this is awful. The "attorney" defending Columbus didn't do anywhere near as good a job as he could have. Starting with the claim that war was sporadic in the Americas? Come again? Entire tribes were wiped out by other tribes. They blame Columbus for spreading slavery, but slavery and human sacrifice were VERY MUCH already happening in the Americas. Conquest and colonialism were also very much happening in the Americas for hundreds of years before Columbus arrived. There are multiple claims made by the "prosecuting attorney" that are VERY questionable. This video is so academically suspect and factually half-hearted on the part of TedEd, it makes me question everything they've made. Oh, and he wasn't looking for a route to India. He was looking for a route to what would eventually be renamed the "East" Indes.
Ответить"I am going to speak the truth, Columbus discoving America is a good thing." Ted Cruz

ОтветитьIn this video they talk about his atrocities supposedly committed while he was governor of Hispaniola. Christopher Columbus was born Italian, but grew to adulthood as a Portugese. He found the Americas while sailing for Spain. He was the governor in Hispaniola of Spanish citizens who didn't like being ruled by a Portugese, so they lied to frame him. He was arrested by his subjects who sent him back to Spain. He was essentially tried in Spain by the King, and Columbus was acquitted and was given additional ships to make additional voyages to the Americas. Meanwhile, Christopher's brother Bartolome was appointed governor and Christopher, and later his son became governor, and Christopher was promoted to become the Viceroy of the Indies.
ОтветитьColumbus is a hero around the world for having the ambition and courage link Eurasia to the Americas. Two state capitals are named for Columbus, as is Washington D.C. We had a national holiday named for Columbus. Columbia University. Columbia Exposition. The country of Columbia. Columbus Circle. If you don't agree that Columbus was a hero, then you just don't get it. Oddly, Columbus never set foot on the land we call the United States of America.
ОтветитьMy question to all of Columbus' highly vocal critics is this: what have you done in your life that required a level of competence, courage, and determination within a fiftieth of that which was required of Christopher Columbus in order that his voyage be successful?
ОтветитьThe defense of native Americans will always sound pathetic to me. They lived here and lost their lands fair and square. If their lives were so prosperous and wonderful, then they would have been strong enough/smart enough to defend their homeland. But they didn’t, they lost. And that’s the way it goes. Quit trying to make people feel bad for canceling out a culture that flat out did not work. They were an unsuccessful and unproductive people. It was a good thing someone else came along and made use of this land for the whole world to enjoy. The natives did have a choice to leave their ways behind and learn something better, but many refused and chose to die by the sword.
ОтветитьThry really need to crack down with their moderation...
