The reason your heel cracks open id the same as why a tomato cracks open if you put steady downward pressure with the palm of your hand on a tomato. The soft pulp interior deforms but the tougher outer skin doesn't and eventually the pulpy interior bursts through. You will see it looks exactly like a cracked heel.

The cure to cracked heel in my experience is soak the feet in warm water for an hour then get a heel file and grate the hard skin away until you get to soft skin. It sounds severe but getting rid of the hard skin is the only way. File downwards in long strokes along the cracks, not across. Then put a really good heel balm on which is like a thick grease and put a sock on top. Do it before you go to bed and wear the socks in bed. Then put some more on in the morning. Repeat the process every evening and morning for a week. If your feet are really bleeding, I sometimes used to put a really big sticking plaster over the heel after greasing it in the morning to reinforce the heel while walking. It holds the grease in place as well.

I tend not to use the urea products.

What I understand Grosse my feet

My feet were actually perfect before I went to this nail salon in Oakland. The nail salon had cheap prices but clean so I went. Long story short, I never had problems with calluses and fungus until now!!😭I make my feet stay clean and fresh and not in tight shoes however my feet is still dry ashy looking. If I don’t go to the nail salon at least once a week for them to shave off my lots of dead skin it will look horrible. I stayed in my house for over a month due to finals while I’m in college. Long story short, a guy friend popped up out of nowhere to say “hi” and I forgot to put on coconut oil or something to moisturize my feet and after 3 minutes of him being my house he noticed my feet and said he had to go😢. Every time before that my feet was always on point but that day he caught me off guard. I know he is thinking crazy thoughts. 😢

Clean them very carefully, treat with iodine if you are not allergic, super-glue them closed. Wear footwear that doesn't pull them open, a smooth insole or smooth flip-flops.
