I have an r5 3600 and an aorus master 3070 and with Ray tracing it is very unplayable, it has big FPS drops, especially in the bazaar, a shame because it looks much better

Not even remotely worth the performance hit or cost in that you require a 3080 minimum for this game not to run as a slideshow with RT on. Good HDR implementations are much more impressive and don't reduce FPS by 50-75%

amazing RTX. Unfortunately, its for slideshow. It doesn't make sense to play it with sacrificing the fluidity of higher refresh rate. RTX 4000 series better double or higher the numbers. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to buy knowing the price will be so high.

I like ray tracing for the most part. All it really does is make lighting and effects accurate to real life. In my experience the image almost always looks better.

Sometimes I feel like my raytracing doesn't work or maybe I'm struggling to notice it in the first area you unlock.

For halving the average framerate, 100+ FPS to just over 45+ FPS is a massive difference in performance for just very slightly increased graphics quality. Is it actually worth the performance cost? I'm not so sure as it's quite difficult to tell the differences between raytracing effects on and off, unless you have side-by-side comparisons like seen here in this video. For stable native 2160p (4K) 60 FPS gaming, I'd definitely recommend turning off most if not all raytracing graphics effects, as doing so doesn't affect the whole gameplay experience at all.

Ah crap. Now I feel even worse for not being using it. The performance hit is just too big. And DX12 also provides stutter for some reason.

I hope they add some sort of option to add more bounces because the indirect light is too weak. The Global IIllumination is really good, not saying otherwise on this point, just that indirect lighting is barely noticable.

I think it's hit and miss.

Will still take a few years for the technology to progress to a standard that will be useful.

I'm hoping Techland will optimize the game with patches/updates. With RT on I get between 40-60 fps, but with RT off I'm at 80-100 fps. Here's to being hopeful the devs will treat DL 2 as good as DL 1! 🥂

Even the trees at the first scene look amazing. What a great implementation.

Seems like at night it looks really cool. But during the day, idk, maybe just personal opinion but i dont see much improvement.

While it might look good it's still not really viable even with DLSS. Maybe RTX 4000/5000 will get it right. Performance is near unplayable with a RDNA2 card as well.

For a single ray bounce it looks amazing. The darker areas definently give the game a more post apocalyptic tone with RTX on!

Fudge! I will have to compromise a lot on my rtx 2060 i7 if I want to play on 3440x1440 @60 fps and RTX on!! 😞
