Asmon accidentally deletes 15 years of addon settings after reinstalling WoW

Thank god I actually decided to learn the game with the default UI for the fear of this

mann im tryna come back to wow but i lost my addons it such a hassle to research what to use and shit... omggg

Reinstalled WoW to play with my GF and had the exact same thing happen. Literally 10+ years of addons and hours of work all because I forgot to backup the WTF folder before I uninstalled and only had the Addons folder... Once I realized my mistake after logging in, just held my head in disappointment and logged off... We never ended up playing after that LOL.

Literally why I quite WoW. To even be considered to join most guilds you had to download like 10+ addons that basically play the game for you.

The looming thought of this happening to my addons at any time was one of the driving factors in me quitting and still is one of the reasons i dont come back, i have had my elvui profile completely delete itself on me unprompted only to be told that i shoulda saved my settings on a separate folder every 10 minutes. Its just so fucking shit man i hate addons and i hate that i need them.

I've never seen anyone have fun playing this game, they're always stressed. Plus you have to pay monthly for this, someone PLEASE tell me why people play this. Can you make your money back in game or something? someone please fill me in, thank you.

Honestly with the recent UI overhaul, wow’s ui is plenty sufficient enough. I have probably 2 addons, damage meter and tomtom
