OMG I figured out why the Germans lost Normandy and France. Instead of building the western wall they should of chopped down and leveled the French country so the German tanks would of had a greater advantage. If a genius like Kurt could not do well in France is because the terrain was unfamiliar to that in the east. Please credit me if you agree with this revelation.

Highly unlikely that a even a tiger with its 88mm gun would have the accuracy and kinetic energy to destroy a soviet tank at 3000 metres. Ww2 crews were known to exaggerate.

He didnt have sucess in Normandy because he never fought in Normandy. He remained in the Mailly camps through August 1944. Documents clearly have him there in July and nowhere near Caen. The 503rd was decimated by air attacks and went nowhere.

So there was humanity in German army.

The glorification of Knispel is garbage. Most of the heroic stories are made up by Franz Kurowski who is not a historian. He mostly wrote war stories with some historic background and threw some real names in it. Doing so he wasn't very much liked by the surviving soldiers who he claimed to be his source. Carius was one of them. There were no official lists and rankings for tankers. You can't verify the claims. Even the air forces had their problems to get the numbers right. Knipels superiors stated more than once that he was a good gunner and liked by his comrades, but he was a terrible soldier and not a good commander. He had no sense for battlefied tactics and commanding a platoon or a company was far out of his range. All this is not made up be me this is the result of Dr. Roman Töppels work on german tank warfare.

He was the soldiers' soldier. Exactly what to expect from a pure individual who places justice above everything else. Most of German soldiers were like that... it's the SS Cancer that made them all look like a rotten bunch.

Do you read these scripts before producing them? There are so many contradictions about the medals this guy received that I cannot figure out what truly happened. I don't trust the "information" you purport to supply because of this. You publish garbage more often than not.

Kurt was a true German hero. He hated the Nazis and the SS and had no problem telling them. That's why his rank stayed the same and he was passed up 4 times for the Iron Cross. It's a shame he didn't survive the war.

If they did not go into Russia they would have won the war and we would not be having illegal immigration problems now and we would be living a better life and anybody that wants to say something about this just look at Europe and the UK and the USA they are getting more immigrants by the day and we the tax payer are paying for are own demise
