At the end Taliban defended their country and freed it first from war the warlords and then American occupation.
Ahmad Shah masood and other such men were warlords who were fighting each other to get hold of Afghanistan after soviet Union left Afghanistan. A common man was fed up of these warlords, in turn they went to appeal taliban to help them get rid of these warlords. This way Talibans have two times defended their country successfully.
