Y’all do know that Toyota had a hand in helping develop the car as well, right? They even contributed reliability testing and chassis tuning for the platform, which is why the Supra is still as reliable as any other Toyota. Oh, and Toyota helped BMW develop the B58. BMW did start development of that engine before Toyota got involved, but when they did, they helped BMW. The Supra is as much a BMW as the Z4 is a Toyota. Don’t be fooled by the badge on the parts

The Block and bottom end was based off an old school Mercedes inline 6

And the cylinder head was done by Yamaha.

Also the chassis and suspension are very Toyota. Also Toyota engeering standards and quality were a huge factor in B58 new supra engine.

I couldn't care less what platform it's on. It's better looking and drives better than a z4. The exterior is still designed by Toyota. You wouldn't call a mclaren f1 a Mercedes even though the engine and several other parts come from Mercedes.
