5 Insane Survival Horror Games Better Than Resident Evil

Resident Evil games are like iPhones. It doesn't matter if there are better options, people will still choose them regardless.

I agree that they provide a better experience than RE4 but I disagree about RE in general.

i played Resident Evil but (i dont like it) its very limited and boring maps hanging around bad aiming crap expect for part 7 of course the only first person one

The Evil Within and Resident Evil they're still being the best horror games. Other zombie games are post-apolcalyptic and looks all exacly the same, without life and not deep characters.

Alan wake was about as scary as Luigis Mansion

Depends on the resident evil game, with things like resident evil 4 remake their is not much that can touch this in this genre in my opinion, outside of resident evil, evil within is very good to, not quite to the level of resident evil 4 remake but good for sure

The Evil Within is one of my favorite video games ever. A great combination of shooter and stealth, great enemy design, atmosphere and the narrative made it a wonderful game.

While I don't agree that these are "better" then the re games, they are all great games still (except for days gone which DRAGS LIKE HELL but has potential to do better)

When it comes to true survival horror, I actually think the "Fatal Frame" series is better than even the remakes of "Resident Evil" games. It's the only series that's maintained the survival horror roots. I'd prefer playing those games over the remakes of "Resident Evil" games.

The original "Resident Evil" series (1996-2012) could've maintained the survival horror roots. But it started straying away from that root when the original "Resident Evil 4" was made (tension horror), followed by the original "Resident Evil 5" (action horror), and finally the original "Resident Evil 6" (dramatic horror). As a result, people now go to the remakes of "Resident Evil" games, especially since the original "Resident Evil 6" is considered the black sheep in the franchise just for being the most action-oriented.

Don't get me wrong, I'm personally okay with the original "Resident Evil" series (1996-2012) for what it is: a non-serious horror at different stages. Even on some level, I can respect it (which is more than what I can say about the "Metal Gear" series and its current fans with the unnecessary "Metal Gear Solid 4" and later entries existing). But when it comes to true survival horror, the "Fatal Frame" series would be my go-to.

I love this list got all of them games apart from the Allen one I just couldn't do it . I love resident evil though the OG and number 2 plus the remakes 7 brought Resident evil back and Village is okay the rest in my opinion are 💩 apart from two more I just can't be bothered naming them 😊.

Except evil within, the other game feels too different. I like kill all enemy in room then loot while hope my ammo and heal item will be enought for next room. I hate unkillable enemy cos i hate being rushed and miss some item.

How are these walking sims like alien isolation better than RE but days gone does look pretty good to try out but without resident evil there wouldn’t be games like the evil within or daymare 1998 or the outbreak collection which are all good games by the way

You're entitled to your opinion of course as to what is or isn't better than RE but Days Gone is not a horror game it's a run of the mill open world shooter with a boring as fuck main protaganist having zombies in it does not make it horror. I looked at your other posts and you like posting lots of indie garbage as 'insane horror'. Just as Days Gone having zombies doesn't make it even remotely a horror game, a game with 'indie' tagged to it doesn't make it automatically better than non indie games. You're a bit of a fanboy really, a bit more objectivity wouldn't go amiss.

The Evil Within is one of my favourite games of all time. I'm currently playing through the second one right now for the first time. Evil Within deserves to be remembered and honoured. I agree that it's underrated and should be hyped up.

A review calling Alan Wake Remastered a worse Control soured me to the Alan Wake series when I was previously seriously considering playing the game.

The third game on this list sounds like a popular game for Fallout fans. Personally, I still have not played Fallout 4 orNew Vegas. I only played the Game of the Year Edition for Fallout 3.

There was actually a Critters movie which had a similiar plot to Alien Isolation. That movie even took place in a space ship for most of the movie.

Days gone is not so good! It's repetitive and you can not craft so much stuff I am sorry I buyed it! Cheers!

Days gone is so overhated. Its slightly worse than Ghost of Tsushima but much better than shitty ass Horizon.

There is few more to try, tormented souls, and fobia. Not the best games,but wont disappoint if you played most of the games.

I played all the games on your list and platniumed all except metro. I respect your opinion, but they got nothing on RE series. RE is just good and consistent.
