Me and my buddies got our hands on a blow fly 8 track tape and we were hooked! We can still quote his lyrics 45 years later!
ОтветитьIndo Smoke brought me here.
ОтветитьFat Joe is trying to say that “hip/hop was created by blacks and Latinos, Puerto Ricans to be exact. I’m 54 years old. I know for a fact that Latinos of any culture had absolutely nothing to do with the origin of hip-hop. In fact I am confident enough to say that BlowFly is the first rapper. A black man born in Macon Georgia. The term rap itself originated from the South. Shoutout to ma FBA from ‘dirty dirty. You can’t name one!!! Latino that was Rap’n when this album came out. NOT ONE!!!

ОтветитьThe first kitchen I worked in... this became an anthem. All of our jokes and callbacks were lines from this song. Some of the fondest memories I have.
This hi fi setup is outstanding. The skips and hisses are gorgeous, and you might not like the subject matter, fair enough. I guess its not aged well to everyone, but the track is velvety smooth uncut analog funk 🫠.
You can't not love this.

ОтветитьThe day this song was released was the day Rap officially began. Hip hop was of course already out and making a name but this is what started the "rap" trend of profanity, sexually explicit Lyrics, drug selling/use, etc. This song changed the whole the dynamic of what was to start being heard more and more and eventually becoming the basis of what rap music ks today
