I have a iPad mini 2 At iOS 12 because iOS 11 is glitchy and slow when I update to iOS 12 it won’t s very fast and not glitchy

the iOS 8.4 is faster at the bootup test, the website scrolling in safari is also way better, the ram management is also better, even the geekbench scores are higher.
iOS 9 is a total bs imho.

does updating to either version from 7.04 affect the battery life at all ?

Is there any one out there with a speed comparison between iOS 6 and iOS9 on the iPad3?
A friend of mine has one and basically never updated - and I'm not sure if the update is worth it or if it would only slow things down a lot.

You say the network speed is 300 down, but wifi has a limit of like 40

I missed out iOS8 completely on our ipad 4. ios 7 was actually the best for speed, many apps are slow on the 4 with ios9, and it was the version 8 fiasco that meant we did not update at all in that whole year. Not sorry either. We don't see any videos saying 'gee wasn't ios8 really good for whatever'. 'Voices' still not as good (speaking the text) in the 9.3 as it was functioning better in ver ios7, so that's hardly a compliment Apple.

I just found your video and I want to say thank you! I have an iPad 3 on 8.4.1 and I am (still) not sure if I should update it. I prefer faster/better performance way more than having the latest software. What is your personal preference?

I also still have my iPhone 5S on iOS 8.4.1 and I won't update it because it just runs fine and fast.

If you cropped the videos so that only iPad is in the shot it would be much better.

Did you put all your apps into storage first before you did these test

On iPad 2 I recommend you downgrade to the lowest firmware file you can get to work. Sadl for me it's real hard to do the downgrade to IOS 6 thing as my iPad 2 is a Wifi Rev A (or 2 in the UK)

iOS 9.3.1 is best

I never update to the new versions of iOS. My brother still uses an iPhone 5 running iOS 6. It runs great and feels as fast as the day he bought it.

My iPad 3 is definitely slow. If I'd known they were notorious for it I wouldn't have bought it. Thankfully it wasn't expensive off eBay.

Great video as per usual, I've just updated to iOS 9.3.1 on my iPhone 6s Plus from 9.2.1 and it seen ever so slightly slower when scrolling from page to page, it's not as snappy.

With the exception of boot up 9.3.1 seemed generally quicker which surprised me as I assumed that newer iOS generally slowed older iPads down due to outdated hardware. I enjoyed this review thanks.
