How to Create an Automated Invoice in Excel | Including Formulas and Customer Database

i need to make random invoice depending in total of that invoice and i have a list of items at A and prices B

Chester! I think the formula in the VAT column has to be like that, in order to calculate the total value of VAT to be paid.

Mr. Chester, I learned a lot from your video but just one thing I'd like to add.
I think you forgot to add the multiply formula in the VAT column. As it will only calculate only a single VAT item no matter what the quantity is.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have struck 2 problems for the want of a better term,
1st, when I enter a new customer into the customer list it appears to be outside the table, I have got around this by clicking on the bottom of the lowest right cell and dragging it down so it adds the selected rows to the table

2nd, I used the first row in the customer list as a message i.e. Click here to select the customer --> the arrow points at the drop down button, but when I print & save the invoice it saves the customers name and does not return to the click here message as the customer.

A quick Question, if you have 2 or more customers with the same name but ofcourse deffrent addresses in your customer list. when you chose the last customer name, it picks up the 1st costumer address. can we make it in a way when you chose a diffrent customer from the customer list, it should pick if the address accordingly ?

Thank you. I've learned a lot already. In the United States, our address use a city, state, and zipcode separated by comas all in one line. How can I or can you point me in the direction of how to recall these from the Address 3, 4 and 5 fields and write them to the invoice in the city, state, zipcode format?

Great tutorial, so clear and easy to follow your instructions... however, I'm getting an error with the data drop down. Doing it exactly as you are showing, but I think there is a cell formatting issue on mine that needs to change? For example the 30,60,90 it gives me "30,60,90" as the only drop down option, its not breaking it up into 3 options and with my customer drop down its still not giving me the newly added customers even after creating the name dropdown which I did like yours. Any advice?

question, with handwritten invoice, we usually have both original and copy of the invoice which the copy will stay with the seller but in computed invoice like one made excel should I print out two of them and save one as a record?

Hi Chester... great work on the spreadsheet template. Just a quick comment (hopefully a constructive one)... when you calculated the VAT in the table, you calculated the VAT amount only for 1 item. It should either be multiplied by the nr of items in the table or resolved in the VAT Total.

Have you ever run into issues with some of these functions being volatile? Last year I had built this entire workbook with the numerous sheets discussed on my MAC and it worked great for me. This year I now have a Windows, and I made the minor changes needed for the Macros to work... but since I have done so, my issue is that the calculating is taking forever and is making this workbook almost useless. I am wondering if it is because there have been volatile functions used? Its all I can really find on the web...

That said I am still confused... because the workbook still works super quick on my Macbook, but as soon as I start using the Windows version, the calculation take forever. Thank-you for any input given!
