Joining Joja - Stardew Valley

Joja it's evil
They're corporate, and that's not actually bad or good.
It depends on your perspective

Personally I see the good and bad on both sides.
The community center makes for a happier town.
While joja makes for a healthier financial situation for the town

In the game the only evidence you even get of Joja it's self being evil is a jab at office work and an overly eager to prove himself manager
Neither actually saying that the company it's self is responsible, just the people they've hired

I say the benefit of joining outweigh the cons, you get the bus running, bridges repaired, and you just have to pay cash or your taxes to get everything running smoothly.

honestly, this is the good ending imo. pierre and lewis are sucking pelican town dry, giving nothing in return. if it wasn't for LITERAL MAGIC the town would have fun itself into the ground. Joja not only improved the town through hard work, but their success here opens the door for them to improve other communities. go joja!

As annoying as the community center is, I would never not do it because I can't stand Joja for a lot of reasons. For one thing, canonically speaking you left a corporation just like Joja to begin with on day one and suddenly you go crawling back to it? The corporation might have even been Joja itself I forget. I think it was. But then you just start throwing money at the issue instead of learning more about the game, like for instance if it wasn't for the community center I might never have gotten involved with fish ponds, coops, barns, and making wine and cheese then aging them and all. I'd just be raising crops all day long. It just seems less rewarding to do it that way.

I’m so glad I did the bundles instead of buying it all, it’s FAR more rewarding and the cutscene with Pierre and Morris is pretty damn good

I actually like Joja better than the center.

1. It was my first "home" store in stardew

2. I low-key like Morris.

3. Pierre is garbage

4. Never really ever wanted to do the center l, since it seems like a low-rewarding waste of time

Question. As someone who kinda rage quit my first playthrough due to newbie mistakes, do you get gifts for completing a project the way you do for finishing bundles?

Honestly even though Joja mart is run by capitalist pigs, once you pay for the community center to be upgraded into a theater it's arguably the best outcome. You don't have to waste precious rare resources that have a higher selling price than the cost of the projects, and you have a place to buy seeds and stuff on days when Pierre can't be bothered.

Ah yes, either a lone ubermensch self made bootstraps farmer turned billionaire saves the crumbling town personally, or joja corp invests and fixes all the local infrastructure and renovates an abandoned building for free eventually into a community cinema. Either way the people in Pelican Town are hopeless and rely on the charity of wealthy or turned wealthy outsiders to solve all their problems ,which the player demonstrates they easily could do if they wanted. Damn, getting old is getting less hostile to joja and hating the community I guess xD

Ok to be fair, completing the community center isn't any better. You barely get a thanks while the nice folks down a joja would have thrown you a party. you also only get a stupid statue while you at least get something every day with the joja refridgerator.

Just played Stardew recently, and I almost accidentally went for the Joja route lol. I'm a lazy reader and I just scan the dialogues most of the time unless I'm invested in a specific story. And I remember, oh Joja has a membership system for 5000 gold, I think if I buy this the prices in Jojamart will decrease indefinitely. Never new there are two routes, and that Jojamart will be gone in the story. I thought it will always be there just as a part of the story/map. So I kept in mind the 5000g all the time. And planning to buy it once I get extra cash to spend on useless things. Didn't know that if I buy that my game will be ruined. And if I did, I'll regret it badly and my progress for my first save file will come to waste 😂. Good thing I didnt!

Only doing this for the steam achievement, don't like it so I'm gonna try out that duplication glitch in this save to finish it as soon as possible. Time to speed run to October for that golden pumpkin
