In most U. S. universities, if you go to class on a regular basis and you've made a good faith attempt to do any assigned homework and you know how to take exams, you can do fairly well. It's like playing a game. You just have to learn how to play it.

Another hint to college and high school students. Finishing a test first doesn’t make you smart. I have taught collegiate level and the kids who finish first do the worst on the text or fail. They didn’t finish first because they knew all the answers. They finished first cuz they are idiots.

Trying to pass a test without studying makes you look like an idiot to grad students and professors. You might as well have walked over and expressed “I am stupid” It doesn’t make you smart. Nobody is born with inherent knowledge about things learned in college or high school.
