Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah:
"A voice was heard in Ramah,
weeping and loud lamentation,
Rachel weeping for her children;
she refused to be comforted, because they are no more.”

Then someone said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel: NIV Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

I’m 99% certain that the caller was trying to say that he is the Messiah.

My sympathies concerning the loss of your father, Tovia. You will see your father again in the resurrection. Jesus promised us all a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous because he bought us back from death!

You are a good man, Tovia. I was raised as a Christian by my mother. My father was an atheist. I guess this has created an open mind in me. But I follow no man's denomination. I have my beliefs. I believe in God. And I see proof of Him when I look in nature. God knows our hearts. And I refuse to believe that God will condemn us to eternal hell fire, simply because we may have been born on the wrong side of the planet. The wrong culture. My father's skeptical mind that I possess, will not allow it. I don't have the verses of the Old Testament or New Testament recorded in my brain. But I know right...and I know wrong. God knows my heart. May God bless you and your family.

Make no mistake everything that started in the old testament is fulfilled in the New testament,before Moses died he had 2 answered prayers before God first he wanted to see the face of God secondly he wanted to step into the promised land.Both prayers were answered in the new testament through the transfiguration.

For those that don't know Rabbi Tovia Singers father created a beautiful Yeshiva (Torah study academy) in NJ which still functions today. He impacted the lives of many people and his son his impacting the lives of many thousands worldwide! May his father have an ever ascending climb in heaven from their combined efforts for others!

Regarding the fundamental and obligatory belief in Judaism to eagerly await the Moshiach, the actual statement of Maimonides has been made into multiple songs , most famously one composed and sung on a train to Aushwitz (google songs "Ani maamim")That one, understandably, has a sad tone but shows no one can take away our total faith in the coming of moshiach and the world's final redemption. This, in fact, is the mission of the Jewish People, to bring about the final redemption and correct the sin of Adam and Eve and return the world to a spiritual state of the Garden of Eden (will be even higher than that actually) This mission statement is conveyed through our Shema prayer, about G-d’s Oneness. It doesn't just mean He is One versus 3. It means to fix the "duality of reality" created by Adams sin that obscured the reality of G-d's Oneness (i.e., absolute truth of His existence and knowledge of Him in this world) something that will be revealed in the Messianic age. It will be a time of unending joy, peace, harmony, and ecstatic closeness to our Creator. So, yes, we yearn for and pray for this several times a day for thousands of years. Aside from the sad version of that song, every other one is extremely joyful, hopeful, and fully expectant that it will happen. And believe me, it will happen soon! The more Jews come back to Judaism, the faster it will happen. ( and that precludes the mistaken belief in Jesus, which literally we have to give up our lives for) In fact, the sages teach that if every Jew kept one Sabbath, it would happen!

Maybe he was trying to ask "Why are you afraid to admit Jesus is the Messiah?" or maybe something along those lines. I don't know. Thank You Rabbi Singer for all you do!

May HaShem elevate the soul of your father and give you and your family the strength to overcome this great loss. May his soul be blessed in heaven and yours here on earth.
