Is it possible to just get the Fingerprint image and do the matching elsewhere? storing fingerprints on to the sensor memory is not applicable in all situations. Sometimes you just want the print and you can do the matching say from a server.

By default when the Vcc and GND are connected to the power supply should the sensor light up? Mine doesn't so I am worried that I have been sold a broken module, and I am no longer within replacement period. I am sure that the wirings are correct :(

Thank you for your video, the product seems very promising! I am just wondering if the working principle of this product, does it work like a camera that takes pictures of your fingerprint? Or it actually senses ridges and valleys on your finger?

What a joke 20 dollars more expensive for more fingerprints.

A fingerprint remains after you press the sensor, which could, in theory, be used to replicate the authentication. A finger swipe would be less susceptible.

Looking at the programming guide, I see there is a command to GetImage. What is stopping someone from stealing the scanner and having your fingerprints?
