Eyeing the Lumibrite exactly for the "bad print" on the dial. To me it looks a little more "vintage", kind of like a patina... goes really well with the black painted hands and small case/dial diam. Also full lume dials are rare. would definetly polish away the coating tho. Swapping the dials and building a titanium full lume watch seems a pretty good idea too!

Dear Master Ben, the titanium watch that you link to isn't the same as the one you're introducing in this program. So I just got a slightly different model today. The whole dial of my new watch can glow, but not the hands.

Anyone know what titanium grade Lorus uses?

The Titanium version is more than twice the price of the steel one.

I have both of these watches in my collection but also the green dialled version of the titanium Lorus. All great watches but the better quality you can't go wrong with the two titanium versions.

Bought the Lumibrite version of this watch for my daughter after watching your review Ben. What a bargain at Argos for £30. Even swapped out the 30mm glass for sapphire for another £13...!

A fission reactor emits a blue light (Cherenkov Radiation ,caused by particles traveling faster than light through a medium) aka Chernobyl ,not green

I would totally go for a titanium + lumibrite Lorus

Try changing a battery. I have the steel version with a spring back. It's the worst watch I have come across. Most spring back type's have a small lip for easy access but not in this case and at £15 a pop at your local jeweller, things get very expensive if you have a watch collection.

There may be "Times" where, (in the Field) You may not want to give away Your Position! I Would Never wear a Watch that can be seen 100 yards away, in the dark.

Lol I actually found in my storage an Alba, that has the same titanium case as this lorus but with full lume, also spec’d at 10 bar WR. And recently acquired a used Alba titanium full lume APBT209. The 209 is a bit smaller. Other than that, great daily beaters.

I read somewhere that there is/was an Asian Seiko Alba model which is a mixture of these two models: titanium case + lumibrite dial. If it only was possible to add a solar charging system to it, there you'd have an unicorn. I dunno if it's mandatory to have black or dark dial to work solar, but as far as I know there are Citizen Eco-Drive watches with a beige dial.

Titanium's not that important in a tiny watch like these. Standard 316L stainless works very well. I much prefer the lumibrite dial to the titanium model. In fact, I own one and the dial had a lot to do with that. The titanium dial looks barren and weak .. and only shows the day numeral. The definition of the numbers and markers on the lumibrite are crisp and of better contrast. And those silly indentations around the titanium case? What the hell was THAT all about?
It was a no-brainer for me ... I wanted that terrific lume.

The lumibrite i purchased for 25 quid is a fantastic piece.
These watches need more exposure.
