I never really like the renegade and paragon points system. It makes it feel like I can only play two types of characters.

Late af but the original ME 1 was a horrendous experience for me as I played ME 2 first. I remember holding the sniper rifle for the first time and I could not stand the aiming mechanic, it was almost as if Shepard was drunk even from a ducking position. I get the idea that they wanted to make the game more RPG oriented as you had to invest talent points on sniper rifles but that means that you could not use the rifles well into mid to late game.

Also the difficulty didn’t scale well, enemies only had more HP and dealt more damage so you pretty much HAD to do a replay with heavily upgraded weapons and armor to do an insanity run… and by then you dealt so much damage and take incoming so well that you pretty much played the game over again.

I guess that the only benefit was that you could get the option to romance the humans respective to your gender or the gender neutral Liara.

I have just platinumed ME2 and didn't bed anyone. I would have been so gentle with Marcus...

Ive just started playing and cant help but want to get through it a bit quickly so I can start the reportedly 'better' 2nd ME. I really must excersize more restraint and patience! 😅

The only game where i feel free to be anything other than soldier is ME3, since there you can have use any weapon or armor no katter your class.

how i wish i can play for first time this saga again, but im happy to have the remastered trilogy, besides i have never played leviathan dlc because of a bug, so i have at least that dlc to play for the first time

I’m sorta bugged that you can use all weapons in ME and ME3, but ME2 you are limited in weapons (dumb complaint I know)

I’m sorry but telling people not to worry about class in ME1 is absolutely silly. ME1 Adept is literally one of the most broken classes in an RPG ever. Enemies are susceptible to physics attacks regardless of shields or protections. You can yeet a Krogan 10ft and as he struggles to get up, just shotgun him. Use Singularity on a swarm of rachni or husks to trap them and skeet shoot them. You can use warp to prevent enemy regen, and pistols are already some of the best weapons in the game. And since cool downs aren’t shared, you can just spam away to your heart’s content, keeping enemies from even fighting and yourself buffed with Barriers. Adept is the best class to play in ME1 and if you take assault rifles as your bonus power, you automatically become better than any Soldier, Sentinel, Infiltrator, Engineer and Vanguard build possible.

Here is a tip. ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS play on a High End PC.
Consoles are for kids. PC Gaming Rigs are for Gamers. ;)
(You can always upgrade a PC but you are 'Stuck' with whatever a Console has to give)

So the Galactic Readiness score you see at the beginning of ME3 is determined by what or how much you do in 1 and 2? If so what would a good score be at the start of ME3?

If I could delete my memories of a game in order to experience it for the first time again, it would by far be Mass Effect. It's so engaging as a story that I loved every second of it.

I played Andromeda first when it came out and really enjoyed it. I'm playing ME1 now on legendary and honestly I'm bored and combat is boring. I've played for a few hours... is something wrong with me?

Tip: Feed your damn fish. If you don't go into your room after every mission or so those cute little flippers won't flip so much anymore. This isn't obvious. (Unless they've lowered the fish-difficulty on this Legendary Edition. )

Another tip: write down intel that seems interesting to you. F.e., when you first enter the Citadel in ME 1, there is a computer-terminal that you can hack. When you do so, you can read about strange things being reported by a patrol about a certain planet in a certain cluster. Such hints can actually lead to new stuff being revealed to you.

I am disappointed they removed the insanity achievement for beating the game on that difficulty on all 3 games.

I'm currently playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition right now in my Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, this isn't my first time going through it. I have beaten it at least on three other occasions...but never one after another. What I think is pretty sweet is my fiancee has never experienced Mass Effect before so I'm getting to live through that first experience through her. She is playing the Mass Effect Legendary Edition on the PS5.

Question- if I want the original ending in me3 does this mean I'm incentivized to NOT do any side missions so my galactic readiness is low?

eh im just glad they fixed the makos aiming you can aim right infront and down now not to mention you dont have to get out and shoot enemies anymore since they balanced the exp to match also rear boosters for thatlast stubborn bit of uphill lol also for returning vets of the series the xp glitch with the therum ruins still works

well your tip one is off unless they have actually given all classes the weapon tree for all weapons. otherwise in ME you could always use all weapons, but without the weapon tree for the sniper rifle for example your targeting circle will be massive and using it is pretty pointless.

Once you've experienced the Mass Effect, you can't shake it off. It's with you for life.

I think picking a class is totally important. I definitely suggest choosing if you want to use Biotics.

Here’s the only tip you need, just enjoy the games. The majority of the people playing, have already played them all, and beat them multiple times. I’m going to be playing strictly for nostalgia, and the story as it’s one of the best ever put into a game.

Aside from the last 15 minutes or so of the story (no spoilers!), this is one of the best, if not best, RPG series ever made. Rich lore, complex characters and life-and-death choices. It is still one of gaming's gold standards of RPG design. You don't play Mass Effect so much as live it.
